Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 79 Trans Am. It is a true Bandit edition with the option code Y84 on the cowl tag. I have owned this car since 1990 when it had 45,000 miles on it. It now has 235,000. I started restoring it and ran out of time and money, It is now time for someone to take up where I left off and enjoy this car. It has Cars & Concepts T tops with an extra set of tops. I pulled the subframe out and it has been blasted and epoxy coated. It has new urethane control arm bushings. It has all new front end parts (ball joints, tie rods, centerlink, pitman arm urethane sway bar links). When I was driving it it handled very well. It also has new stainless brake lines on the front half of the car. The engine was rebuilt at 168,000 miles and is standard except for being bored .030. It is the original 403 Olds engine. It has an Edlebrock aluminum intake on it and the original goes with the car. It has a different transmission in it and the original is in the trunk and goes with the car. This car has everything to be completely numbers matching. There are cloth seats in it and the original vinyl seats go with it. The center caps that are missing in the pics are in the car and are the correct stainless caps. The air intake hose and duct are also in the car. The radio is out of a 1981 Pace car edition. This car has power steering, power brakes, tilt steering column, ac that has been retrofitted to R134 but needs a fitting replaced. It also has power windows, rear window defrost, cruise control, power trunk release and remote drivers mirror. I have a COPY of the original window sticker to go with it from Pontiac Historical Society and a lot of reciepts. I have the owners manual also. The front end parts are Moog. The tires have less than 500 miles on them and it has new dual exhaust from the convertor back. Now, I do not want to sugar coat any of this. I have not driven the car since the beginning of 2005. It was stored inside until a year and a half ago. When I moved it recently a brake line broke and I noticed a hole in the drivers side rear frame rail. The floor boards and the trunk floor still feel solid. There is a hole in the front of the passenger side quarter panel. I have a piece cut from a parts car that will go with it. Along the edges of the doors and fenders rust is starting. The dash is cracked and the steering wheel is rough. The carpet was new and may come back to life. The console hinge is broke. There are an extra set of the large rear seat side panels and the package tray was installed new before it was parked. Having set so long, I am selling this as is. With a little tinkering and a battery it will start but would need to be trailered to its new home. It has the original inflatable spare tire, jack and adapters for these cars. When I was working on it I would always use correct hardware. With some tinkering and TLC this car could be brought back to awesome form. If the bid goes over $2250 I have a factory hood bird that I will include with the car. The winning bidder has the option to purchase a 4 wheel disc brake rear end that I have with a new bearing and seal kit and a WS6 rear sway bar for and additional $350. Upon completion of the auction I will need a $500 non refundable deposit through paypal. After that I can keep the car up to 30 days. Terms of the sale are cash or cashiers check. NO PERSONAL CHECKS. Please ask any and all questions. This was my dream car and I may be looking through rose colored glasses at some things. I have tried to list all of the good, the bad and the ugly but please don't hesitate to e mail me. Thanks for looking. On Mar-03-12 at 16:40:25 PST, seller added the following information:This car has 8" snowflake wheels. Also, my wife says to make sure I tell everyone it does need painted. The clearcoat from a previous paint job is coming off and it has deteriorated from the weather. Thanks for looking and be sure to bid.
