Vehicle Detail

72 Ford short box with clear Mississippi title, lots of good parts or could be restored. It is running, trans shifts OK and brakes work. Odometer shows 74,491 for what that's worth. The worst thing about this truck is at one time it had an aftermarket sunroof that was removed and patched. The sunroof is in the bed and if you could find a gasket it could be reinstalled. There are a lot of good parts on this truck and I will try to list them. Engine is a 302 with a Weiand aluminum intake, Holley 4 bbl (4160 with electric choke), M/T valve covers. Trans is a C6. Rear is a Ford 9 inch. Engine runs fine, does not smoke but does leak. Has near new radiator. Trans cooler lines are not hooked up but there is an aux cooler that is functional. Power steering needs to have pump and bracket installed, they are included Interior is poor but does have several usable parts. The dash pad has no cracks. All of the glass is intact. The body is fair to good except for the sunroof issue. Was originally white, now has a vey poor blue paint job. Cab corners appear good along with the cowl, rockers, passenger door and floors. Drivers door has rust issues and broken regulator. Front fenders have typical rust behind wheelwells otherwise OK. Hood is great shape with no rust inside or out. Bed has a lot of dents along top but is in reasonably good shape below seam. The tailgate has no dents on top or rust perferation on bottom. Bed has drop in liner with spray in liner under it, talk about redundant. New polyurathne radius arm bushings have been installed. Tires are Goodyear Eagle LS 255/65R15 with over half the tread remaining on chrome wheels. Drawtite receiver hitch is installed. The grill shell has one small dent on drivers side under hood, but I would call it good driver quality. I was going to part the truck out but recent surgery will not allow it and the wife wants it out of the carport. The hood and tailgate and grill shell alone are worth close to opening bid because of condition. I have done my best to describe the truck honestly, it you have any question or would like a pix of a detail let me know. While the truck does run I wold recomend trailering. On Mar-08-12 at 09:18:19 PST, seller added the following information: Got my arm out of the sling yesterday and was able to give the old truck a better lookover and take a few more pix. I was wrong about the cab floor, it has screwed in patch panels. The good news is it was undercoated so from underneath the bed floor looks intact with no cancer and the wheelwells look straight, even with the dents on the bed caps the bed is well worth restoration. None of the wheelwell lips show cancer. The dual exhaust system looks OK and is put togather with clamps, not welded. The tailgate is better than I thought and is factory drilled for Ranger or Ranger XLT trim. I have got a lot of emails asking if the truck is turnkey, IT IS NOT. The previous owner bought this as a project but by his own admission he was not mechanically inclined enough to finish the truck. I purchased it to part out but is a good canidate for restoration. My son drove the truck to my house, about 50 miles, but it still need sorting out.
