Vehicle Detail

For Sale: 1981 Honda C70 Passport, 3579 miles, GREAT condition. Please view 59 photos here: http://s993.photobucket.com/albums/af55/erinheard/C70%20Honda%20Passport%20for%20sale/ I have decided to sell my Honda Passport. I no longer use it and want to put into the hands of someone who will enjoy and take pride it in as I have. Having been a former mechanic, I know how hard it is on vehicles to sit day after day. I don’t want to see it deteriorate. I have a clear title in hand. This bike has double value for me. It is in phenomenal condition and runs like it did when brand new in 1981. It is a great example of this iconic bike as it has been well cared for. It is an excellent city bike and is ultra-economical. The second value is purely sentimental. My grandfather bought this bike new in 1981 and used it in his small town in Arkansas. I remember seeing him ride it around the farm, down to the front gate to get the mail, and into town and thought it was pretty cool. Because he was raised during the depression, he took extremely good care of all of his things, especially this bike. It was parked inside (not in the garage - inside the finished, climate controlled basement) every night. He regularly maintained it and used it for many years before giving it to me. Since then I moved it to the Pacific Northwest and seldom ride it. It is now stored in a friend’s garage. I am not looking to get rich or deceive anyone. I am a man of my word and will conduct this auction as I would want one conducted for a vehicle I am interested in. I will describe the Passport accurately and paint a clear picture of it. Please view my numerous pictures for the best idea of the condition. I have bought/sold many vehicles on eBay and never like surprises when I pick a vehicle up. There will be no surprises with this one. I have uploaded 59 pictures HERE and request you look through them carefully. I made an attempt to fully document the bike and any blemishes. I may not have captured every scratch. I am happy to take more and send them and discuss the bike over the phone. I reserve the right to end the auction early. I sell the bike with no warranty implied or expressed. It is sold as is, where is, and transport is at the buyers expense. I am happy to work with a transport company the winning bidder arranges. I require a $300 non-refundable deposit via Paypal within 48 hours of the auction close and the balance within seven days of the auction end via cash, cashier’s check, wire transfer, or Paypal. Arrangements to retrieve the bike should be made within seven days of the auction end. Details: I have completed the following work: new front tire/tube (Michelin Gazelle), new headlight w/ replaceable bulb, new battery, new points and condenser, fresh oil change, valve adjustment, timing adjustment, carburetor cleaning, fuel tank lined w/ "cream," new fuel lines, new fuel cap, etc. The bike runs really well and is as peppy as it has ever been. It shifts smoothly and stops quickly. Everything, including the electric start works. It is in fantastic condition. The body is great with no rust or leaks. The chrome on the wheels and exhaust looks brand new. Seriously. There are a few scuffs as expected with a vintage bike. There is a small tear in the surface of the seat lining (does not penetrate to the foam) and I chose not to replace it to keep the original appearance (replacement covers are abundant on eBay). The front basket is in poor shape. The leg shied is original, and the bike has the original, complete tool kit. I added an OEM Honda center stand to augment the side stand. I will also include a custom cover that fits the rearview mirrors. Terms of the sale: The bike is sold as is, where is and there is no warranty implied or expressed. Shipping or retrieval is the responsibility of the buyer and arrangements for such must be completed with 7-days of the auction end. A $300 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of the auction close and the balance is required within 7 days of the auction close. The balance can be paid via Paypal, cash, money order, wire transfer, or cashier's check. I have a clear title in hand. Thank you for reading this far. This is a great bike and wonderful example of the C70. I’m hopeful it will go to a good home. Thanks for looking and please contact me with any questions prior to bidding.
