This was formerly an ambulance for a small town in IL. It is currently a privately owned and operated vehicle and no longer has any emergency equipment installed on it. It does not have any emergency lights or sirens installed,they have all been removed. I bought this van this past October to temporarily replace another van that broke down on me. I have since found another newer one and no longer need this one. I have driven it almost every day since I bought it and it is very reliable. This van has the 7.3 liter non-turbo Diesel V8 engine,this is NOT a Powerstroke. The engine runs great and does not smoke,the transmission shifts fine. I was told it had 174k miles on it when i purchased it,but have since found out that it was 274k. It now has 278,xxx miles on it at the time of this listing. These motors run forever as long as they are taken care of. While underneath it I noticed that the transmission has a re-manufactured tag on it,I have no idea when or where it was done. I replaced all (8) glow plugs,and the glow plug controller when I bought it. It starts easily,I did not need to plug the block heater in all winter. I installed new power steering hoses recently,and had the starter rebuilt because it was acting up. Batteries are good. Has (2) fuel tanks and both work. Front brakes were installed when I bought it 4-months ago also. There is some rust on the body that can be seen in the pictures as expected from a 22-year old vehicle,but is not falling apart. The body mounts are still solid. Minor dent on the passenger front door,and the front bumper has a bend in the center. Windshield has a crack in it that just recently mysteriously happened,it`s not huge but it is there. Body has minor dings,scratches,chips,etc as expected with age. The van has front and rear heat and a/c. The heat works great,I honestly have not tested the a/c because it is still winter. I installed a new Pioneer CD player & speakers. All of the lights,signals,etc work fine. Brakes are good,tires are good. The wipers do not work on the high speeds,but I do have a brand new Ford Motorcraft wiper motor I am including that I never got a chance to install,it was about $180. There are spotlights on both sides and the rear of vehicle that really do come in handy. The interior in the rear is well-lit,and also has hookup for 120-volt electricity on the outside,with outlets inside. Most of the cabinets are still installed in the rear. They really do come in handy. The only one I removed is the long bench that ran along the right side. Would make a great service or work van,or tow vehicle. There is a local locksmith that operates his entire business out of one of these. Have seen people use these to transport their dirt bikes/motorcycles in,it could hold all of your tools...kind of like a mobile garage. The possible uses are endless. The transmission does have overdrive,and the rear axle is a 4.10 posi. It still manages about 15 to 16mpg on the hiway at 60-65mph even though it weighs about 7500-lbs. I will include a Class IV trailer hitch with the van that I never got around to installing. There is a full-size spare wheel/tire inside of the van. This has been a good van in the short time that I have owned it. It can carry ALOT of stuff inside of it. Clear IL title in my name.
