Vehicle Detail
This is a NO RESERVE auction. At only 97,606 miles, a lot of people will tell you that this car hasn't even really been broken in yet. But since she's the 4th car in my stable and goes weeks and occassionally months between times when I drive her, I decided to put her up for sale. She's led a pretty comfortable life here in southern Connecticut as she's never gone off-road and never travelled more than a couple of hours away from my home. I'd just as soon keep her, but again, I don't get to drive her enough. INTERIOR - The interior is in pretty good shape, with the drivers seat fine, but the passenger seat frayed at the inner, bottom seam. The carpet is in great condition, but the headliner is saggy like on most of these cars. Aside from a gremlin that keeps the rear windows from going up and down (perhaps its a fuse or a loose ground or something), all of the electronics work fine, including the A/C, heater, defrost, radio, etc. EXTERIOR - This car has never been in an accident or off-road, so the body panels are all good and straight. The running boards are solid and the wheels are in perfect condition. The front door handle has been "sticky" for years, but I'll pass a replacement door handle along with the sale. There's a bit of surface rust on the rear bumper and the middle plastic attachment to the front bumper popped off years ago (and while I'll dig arround in the basement I doubt that I still have that middle front bumper piece). OPERATION - The car runs fine and just got a $700 tune up, with a new distributor cap, rotor, ignition wire set, vacuum advance unit, fuel filter and distsributor rebuild done. She runs somewhat louder than I would like since I replaced the cats and mufflers a few years ago, but otherwise, she's in pretty good shape and should have a lot of life left in her. There aren't going to be a lot of opportunities to find a low mileage Discovery like this, especially not at this price. So bid, and bid to win.
