Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is this very clean 1965 Buick Skylark Convertible. The Skylark belongs to a friend of mine. I am listing this for him and will answer any & all questions you have as quickly as I can. Feel free to call me and if necessary, leave a message. I have more pictures and can send them after we talk. I have the car at my house and can show it to you with advance notice. I will list all the details of the car as best I can and as I see it. I will start with the outside. The VIN is #444675K126705. The firewall plate reads: 06B ST 65-44467 KAN 1119 Body TR 159-B S1 Paint E2KXGP 4F 5KW The Skylark had just been restored a few years ago, there isn’t any rust on the car, its body is straight and clean front to back. There are a couple of items I will list later that are very typical for any car that’s been driven. The color is gold or copper but unfortunately I do not have the paint code. The trim is very straight and clean, the convertible top is brand new with a clear rear window. The paint is professional with a deep shine. It does have some pin striping on the hood & trunk (see pics). The body is pristine, very straight with all the lines matching up well. The glass is all new, no defects, very clean and all windows function correctly. As I went over the car closely, the minor defect are a small chip on the driver door edge, the passenger trim piece has a slight door ding (still clean, just dinged a bit), the convertible top cover is missing a snap and the rear driver’s window needs a little assistance when rolling it down. There’s one driver light out but it will be replaced shortly. The high beam head-lights, turn signals, brake lights, etc. all work except the left turn signal indicator inside the car (bulb need replaced). There's a little surface rust, surface only, in the trunk (see pic). The rims are new Cragar 15” with new BFGoodrich tires (P235/60R15 on the rear & P205/60R15 on the front). Brakes are all drum, front and rear. All in good condition. Now for the interior. Black interior, very clean (carpet, dash, door panels, headliner, console, etc…). The interior was completed by Custom Auto Interiors. Factory instrumentation, including the functioning tach on the console. There are a set of extra gauges above the console that I don’t believe are working (may just need connected). Functional A/C & Heat (the blending door sticks once in awhile, but still works) and factory AM radio with an 8-track optional add on that goes in the glove box (not actually in there now). The drive train consists of a 425 c.i. Super-wild CAT engine with dual 4-barrels (runs on all pump gas), 2-speed Power Glide Transmission, 10-bolt rear end, approx. 50,900 miles showing on the car with only 5,000 miles on it since being rebuilt (entire car, motor & all). This is not the original engine in the car but was an option from the factory. This is one incredible & clean ’65 Skylark convertible. The engine starts up easily, runs strong & the car drives well with tight steering. The car is very clean throughout and is priced very affordable for the level of craftsmanship built into it. I’m sure you’ll have questions so if you’re truly interested, give me a call 662-560-4609 or send Ebay emails and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. Title is in hand, free & clear. The owner does have this car for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction if the reserve hasn’t been met. You will be extremely pleased with this one. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding. Oh yea, the one picture shows the factory air breather for the dual 4-barrels along with various manuals and an original brochure for the car. Truly a car for the enthusiast. Posted with the eBay Android appOn Mar-01-12 at 19:13:21 PST, seller added the following information: I need to clarify my description on the A/C & Heat. The heater does function, it's the A/C that is in place except the lines going to/from the condenser/evaporator need installed. Sorry for any confusion on this information. I appreciate all the questions and comments on the car. On Mar-02-12 at 10:36:41 PST, seller added the following information: The owner has requested I lower the reserve in order to sell thru Ebay, so anyone bidding should contact me and also have good Ebay ratings/feedback. Anyone who doesn't contact me or has low ratings may be subject to being removed from the bidding process. Sorry to be up front on this matter but I only plan on working with serious buyers. Thank you all in advance.
