Vehicle Detail

As to myself, I am not a dealer, just a (62) year old kid that loves muscle cars. For my work, I manage a Correctional Facility here in Maine and have worked there for over (38) years. I am also a respected member of my community. I mention this only so that prospective buyers will have some idea as to who they are dealing with. Some of the "Best of the Best in 1984" Winner of Super Bowl XVIII: L.A. Raiders Winner of the Academy Award for Best Picture: Amadeus Winner of the World Series: Detroit Tigers Named one of 1984's 10 Best Cars by Car and Driver: 944 Porsche The Porsche 944 is everything that the Porsche 924 wasn’t, and it has finally given legitimacy to Porsche’s efforts to become a power in the world of front-engine, rear-drive cars. One of our favorite engines, ever since 1977, has been the Porsche 928’s overhead-cam V-8. It turns out that slicing a Porsche V-8 down the middle results in a line four that is very nearly as lovable as the V-8 from which it sprang. Porsche had to add Mitsubishi’s Silent Shafts to damp out the four-cylinder vibrations, but what they came up with was a great engine, and what that engine powers is a great sports car in the great Porsche tradition. If we all owned 944s, we’d never be able to hold our jobs. The temptation to veer off toward the mountains every day on our respective ways to work would overpower us sooner or later, and mountain roads would replace career paths as the most important things in our lives. At a price of around $21,000, it is a bargain. The 944 defines the term “driver’s car.” What it does is what car enthusiasm is all about. Drive it with Patrick Bedard’s studied, surgical precision, or Don Sherman’s hang- it-out-there-and-see-what-happens abandon, and either way you’ll always love it. See my other Corvette ad and you will see what I mean. However, this Porsche is simply like new. It is a 1984 Porsche 944 with a 4-cylinder engine and a 5-speed manual transmission with what I believe is Sapphire exterior paint. It has only 42,000 miles on it and absolutely everything works as it should. Everything. OK, the hood lift supports need to be replaced but that's it. A two-owner car originally purchased by one brother and then given to his brother. Isn’t brotherly love great? The previous owner had many cars and hardly ever drove this Porsche. He sadly passed away four years ago this July and the car has been setting in dry storage since his untimely death. I simply purchased a new battery and fired it up. The car is completely rust free and the interior and exterior is in excellent condition. It starts, runs, shifts, brakes as it should with absolutely no excuses. The Porsche comes with all manuals (Before anyone asks, I do know that the manuals say '83 but this is a 1984. I am assuming that it was an early 84 built car and they used the left over 83 manuals.), two sets of keys, four lock nut keys for the wheels, and a few cassette tapes that you can play while you are cruising the streets. If you ever wanted to buy your daughter or son a Porsche, without breaking the bank, this is your opportunity to be their hero. Feel free to ask any questions and I will do my best to answer them and respond ASAP. The video can be seen by clicking this link: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v295/dillon14/84%20Porsche%20Video/?action=view¤t=MOV071.mp4 FYI: I do not have a Maine title for this 1984 Porsche as Maine does not issue titles for vehicles that are more than (15) years old. I have sold cars all over the country as well as Canada, England and Australia and have never had a problem. The car will come with a Bill-of-Sale, the Maine registration signed over to the new owner and a copy of the Maine law regarding titles which is on a form issued by the Maine Motor Vehicle Department I am an individual and do not claim to know everything there is to know about these cars. It is your responsibility to ensure that all of you questions or concerns are resolved prior to bidding and not after. WINNING BIDDER DOES NOT HAVE THE OPTION TO LOOK THIS CAR OVER AFTER THE AUCTION CLOSES TO DETERMINE WHETHER OR NOT THEY WANT TO BUY. INSPECTIONS "MUST" BE DONE PRIOR TO THE CLOSE OF THE AUCTION WITH NO EXCEPTIONS. In fairness to all, I am not revealing the reserve price. If you are interested in owning this car, please place a bid TO OWN ONLY NOT TO PASS TIME. If it does not make reserve, I may contact the high bidder depending on what the highest amount was on the last bid. Terms of Sale This pre-owned vehicle is being sold "as-is, where is" with absolutely no warranties and/or guarantees either expressed or implied. Winning bidder must contact seller within (48) hours of auction close to confirm purchase by e-mail. A 10% non refundable deposit is required within (5) business days of auction close. Remainder of selling price is due within (10) business days of auction end. All funds must be in the form of a cashiers check, certified bank check or wire transfer. If there is no confirmation, seller has the right to offer the vehicle to other bidders. Buyer is responsible for all transport costs. Seller reserves the right to end the auction early without any liability to the seller. BID WITH CONFIDENCE AND CHECK OUT MY FEEDBACK WHICH IS 100% AFTER (800) TRANSACTIONS. THANKS FOR READING THIS AD. GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY BIDDING. On Feb-25-12 at 06:59:25 PST, seller added the following information: I was asked to show this. I guess it is the Porsche option list. On Feb-25-12 at 07:06:26 PST, seller added the following information: This is what the options decoded to on a Porsche site. Don't hold me to it though. Anyone is free to come and see the Porsche, start it up, hear it run and check for leaks or whatever. However, test drives will not be permitted. Understand that I have driven this Porsche and it drives, shifts and handles excellent with absolutely no issues. Take my word for it. OK, I understand that my word means nothing to people who do not know me but hopefully you will look at my feedback, as a private seller, with over 800 transactions and a 100% feedback. I have sold cars to individuals in Canada, England, Switzerland, Australia and of course all over the US with no complaints. The Porsche has already met reserve and will sell to the highest bidder and someone will get a beautiful Porsche. Thanks for reading this.
