Vehicle Detail
I have for sale a very solid 1955 Chrysler Imperial 2-door hardtop. The car has a 354 Hemi V-8 with 102,000 miles. The car runs and drives fine. The automatic trans with dash lever shifter works well. Tires are fairly new and the brakes stop the car smoothly. The body and undercarriage are very solid indeed. The paint is old and a paint job is needed. The stainless is very good and the chrome is average for a 57 year-old car, with some pitting and scratches. The power seat works forward and back but not up and down. The front 2 power windows work fine but the back 2 do not. The engine starts right up and runs smoothly and quietly. The glass is good and clear. The dash is nice but has incorrect dash pad. The headliner is in good shape and the seats are decent. The carpet is good but incorrect. The Mark IV A/C does not operate but is complete except for the compressor in the engine bay. The plexi A/C air scoops in the package shelf are in good condition. Working:headlights, taillights, brake lights(brake light switch sticks on),high beams and high beam dash indicator, all turn signal lights including dash green diamonds, front power windows, horn, driver's door mirror control,heater,e-brake,amp guage, fuel guage, oil guage, temp guage, wipers, map light, glove box, power seat(forward and back only). The angled stainless at bottom edge of door trim stainless is not correct. Not working: speedo, back 2 power windows, radio, clock, A/C, cigarette lighters, 2 dome lights in upper rear of interior. Overall, this is a very rare '55 Chrysler, being an Imperial 2-door hardtop with A/C. The car can be driven right now. This California car has a very solid body and under- carriage. Not many 2-door hardtops left. Please feel free to ask any questions. I found information on the classichemi.com site and determined that this '55 Imperial does have a correct 331 Hemi not the 354 Hemi. I found the code on the front top of the motor and it reads: CE555582. Very sorry for the confusion. On Feb-24-12 at 18:41:18 PST, seller added the following information: ^^^^^^NOTE ABOVE^^^^^^^
