Vehicle Detail

1989 Saleen Car number 89-0054. This is a three owner car that spent the majority of it’s life in the Las Vegas, NV area. We purchased the car two years ago from the second owner. The first owner is listed in the Saleen Book, and he drove the car for a few years before putting it into storage. The second owner, also from Las Vegas, owned the car for a year before selling it to us. We live in Arizona and the car has been garaged since we bought it and driven to a few car shows in our area.We (my wife and I) have kept every receipt for every part we put into the car, and I have also kept every original part that was replaced for the purpose of maintenance and worn out conditions. As it is now it could be a daily driver for someone or it could be taken to next level and become someone’s show car.CURRENT INFO302ci 5 Speed Manual TransmissionDark Shadow Blue Metallic Ø 56,484 original miles Ø Hatchback Ø Saleen five spoke wheels 16”X7” Front 16”X8” Rear Ø 225/50R16 Fuzion Tires Ø Four wheel disk brakes Ø Strut tower brace Ø Saleen 170mph speedo and tach gauges Ø Momo steering wheel/cruise control Ø Saleen shift knob Ø Saleen Flofit interior Ø Original Saleen floor mats included Ø Original Saleen dash emblem Ø Original Bumper number stickers that were shipped in trunk Ø New from Saleen one set of bumper numbers silver Ø New from Saleen console plaque Ø Saleen Letter of Authenticity document Ø Saleen stripe delete car Ø One new pair Racecraft Suspension decals Ø One new Ford trunk/hatch mounted emblem Ø Original Spark Plug wires Ø AC and heater both work Ø Glove box signed by Steve Saleen Ø Pioneer KEH P7000 cassette/stereo CD ready with remote control Ø Pioneer BP880 Graphic Equalizer New Repairs/Maintenance Since We Bought The Car ü Replaced motor mounts ü Replaced throttle body gaskets both sides ü New battery hold down bracket ü New battery hold down bolt ü New power steering pump ü New power steering pressure hose ü New door handle cup set ü New door mirror mounting hole cover set ü New center armrest trim panel ü New PCV valve and grommet ü New coolant overflow bottle and cap ü New oil pan plugs ü New oil pan gasket, painted oil pan ü New valve cover gaskets ü New header gaskets ü New intake manifold gaskets ü New Flofit seat lever The car is a great driving car, mechanically sound, and we have done a lot of the maintenance items that a 22 year old car needs. The interior is in good shape with a small wear spot about 1 ½ in long on the drivers seat along with a little patina on it also. The rest of the interior is in good shape and the passenger side Flofit has no wear or visible tears. The carpet is in good shape and it could be removed and cleaned to get even better. There are some places on the passenger side door that have paint chips that were there before we purchased the car. The story on the rear hatch is that in the early 90’s the car was broken into through the hatch and the original Pioneer KEH 8050 was stolen, and the insurance company replaced the stereo with a new Pioneer KEHP7000 stereo cassette player with a remote. The rear hatch seems to have been replaced or repaired as and there is some red paint showing along the edge. I had noticed that the front springs and struts are original Saleen, but the rear springs have been replaced and I did not get them from the previous owner. I have the passenger side auto door lock disabled at this time, and it needs a new actuator. The car could easily become show quality with a new paint job as it is very straight.
