Vehicle Detail
1930 Ford Deluxe roadster project, not running, needing major restoration. This is a rough car, make no mistake. Overall, the body is rust pitted and sprayed over with gray primer. At this point, you can actually shake the body side to side. The body needs to be braced up at the door jambs, lifted off the frame, and have new sub-rails and cross members welded in. Also, patches are needed at cowl, quarters, doors. Hood has bad tack welds at the hinge and they are coming apart. Front fenders have poorly welded splits, back fenders are not bad. Running boards and splash aprons are pretty good. WIndshield frame and stanchions are in pretty good shape. Frame is solid, drivetrain is complete, I have had the motor running and moved the car under it's own power but it runs poorly and water appears to be gradually getting into the oil. Included in the sale is a good condition driver's door and cowl patch panels. I have had experience restoring Model A cars like this and this car certainly can be bought back if you have the needed wire welding skill. All sheet metal parts are available from dozens of suppliers across the country. Don't undertake this project unless you know what you are doing. On the other hand, here is an opportunity to get a very desirable, big buck car for very little money, assuming you (or someone you know) can do the work. I do not have a title for this car and can only provide a bill of sale. Buyer is responsible for all shipping and transporting of the vehicle. $500 deposit required within 48 hours of auction end. On Feb-17-12 at 09:25:20 PST, seller added the following information: rear wheel sells in pretty good shape, not rotted out. Door posts OK, too. Driver's side cowl attaching point has some rot, passenger's side is good.
