Vehicle Detail
This vehicle WAS SOLD on Ebay but the high bidder was from Italy and backed out. ONLY BID if you live in the USA or Canada as stated in the auction. We just completed this truck . The idea and design behind the truck was to keep as many original parts and upgrade where it meant the most. Chassis, suspension, engine and interior. We do call this a rat rod because we spent the money where it counted and didnt install A/C or heated seats. This truck looks awesome, sounds awesome and starts on the turn of the key. We purchased the cab that was resting on an s10 frame that was already in great shape. We undercoated the frame, added new brakes and anything else we saw before moving forward. It has 7.5 inch cragers in front with 10 inchers in the rear. (Nice stance) The original hood, front grille, front fenders and rear fenders where all separate. (Chevy 3100 and 3800 we believe) All new windshield, hood hinges, hood emblem, battery, wiring, lines, lights, fuses and gauges where added. New solid mahogany steering wheel with billet center was installed. We modified the steering column to angle and fit perfectly between the special V8 headers. Heat shield was added to the engine bay and sound and heat shield was installed on the interior. New carpet, new door trim, seals, door panels and custom center console was installed to accept the B&M race shifter. Note the cab is lowered on the frame so not to sacrifice the ride. We selected a Chevy Camaro 305 v8 engine and transmission that we pulled from a strong running car we already had. We added a new intake, gaskets, seals, valve covers, K&N filter, chrome lid, plugs, cap, wires, HTS coated headers, bolts and so on. We removed all the needless vacuum lines, cleaned and adjusted the carb. We added a new gm aluminum radiator, hi-efficiency cooling fan, transmission cooler, all new hoses, clamps, nuts and bolts and more. We custom built the bed using eighty year old barn wood that the owners Grandfather had. There is a steel frame and a steel sheet with cross members for the bed and an aluminum diamond plate bed floor with custom surround. There is no radio and we removed the original side door quarter windows and frame work to achieve a nice clean open look. They will be included with the purchase if you want to add glass later. We capped the wiper mech with polished shot gun shell casings and repurposed the 1949 horn button for a cap for the coolant bottle. The truck has new turn signals, headlights, wiring, rear brake and turn signals. We have over $15,000.00 into the project. If you have never done something like this you won't understand all the little things that come up that need special attention. We did it all for you and good luck and happy bidding. The pictures were taken throughout the building process inside the shop. It was way too cold and messy here in Chicago to get any outside. The flash was not used on most of the pictures becuase the shop lights and the flash totally changed the color of the truck. Many other parts like exhaust, mufflers, mirrors, handles, emblems can be seen in the photos. I can send more pics if you are a serious bidder. Thanks again..
