Did you know nearly EVERY movie has a Volvo in it? Never noticed?? You will now!! Sorry for the wintery pics! Just returned from a fresh professional detail and it started to snow! Had to hurry and takes these for you! For the records, this auction ends with NO RESERVE on this tuesday evening. I will NOT be available from this friday night thru sunday night. Please plan accordingly. Thanks! Here's another justlikenew2u! specimen! I've logged nearly 300 miles on it to ensure it's reliability! Fanastic condition, not perfect, but quality, especially in the mechanical department. Beautiful black exterior shines like new. Minimal scratches and no signs of any major bodywork or repairs. Please enjoy the pics and full descriptions below. Inspect my excellent feedbacks! Front and rear bumper covers are in great shape. Minor chips as a typical car of this age and mile would have, but no cracks, holes or damages. ZERO visible rust to be found on the car. Body panels have only a handfull of dings and no dents. Again...I'm no bodyman, but I don't see any signs of major repairs. The previous owner even went as far as installing plastic protective ding guards on every possible edge and corner of the car. It looks good and until I pointed it out, you wouldn' have noticed...but you WOULD notice the lack of dents and chips because of it! Below you can see the very recent tires. Fronts are matching brand and rears are another brand but also matching. Excellent shape on vibration free rims even at speeds of 80mph. Unseen are the nearly new brakes and rotors for warpless and noiseless operation. No supsension pops or noises or slop. Car drives straight with only a light left pull but honestly may have been from the crappy Illinois roads! Drivetrain is smooth and noisefree too! Hood has the expected small rock chips but no signs of any dents or dings. Beautiful shine here too! Below the roof shines as well as the rest of the car! One problem here tho....the sunroof. You can see it's not sitting right. No water leaks from what I can tell, but it makes noise from being popped up on one side. I honestly have no clue how to fix these but it looks as if the hinge on the left side is broken as only the right side tries to move. I unplugged the motor to leave it here. I'm also going to be installing some clear tape over the fron area to try and quiet up the wind noise a bit. It looks as if it was this way for a long time as there are signs of a windguard up top....marks from where it mounted. Honestly, the only complaint I have about this car. Nearly EVERY 850 and 70 series Volvo came with a roof and use the same design. I'd be willing to bet a junkyard would net you plenty of the needed parts for a cheap fix....or just leave it! LOOK at that shine!! Like a mirror! The rear bumper cover looks so great....minimal scratches if any. Vinyl even look great with no dryness or fading. Note the optional luggage rack bracing below! No, the car isn't smoking...it was 30degrees and snowing, remember? Front tires are Cooper and the rears are Falken....all in excellent condition and the proper tire sizing for this car. Hard to see below but the passenger side lower removable (tow hook) grill is missing. Easily replaceable if desired. Onto the interior...I'd be lying if I said it was as gorgeous as the exterior. Actually quite odd it's not! I'd say an 8.5 out of 10 in appearance is fair. No cuts or holes or damages to the leather, but the door panels have seen better days....mostly just a puncture, a crack or the typical plastic insert seperation. Nothing to complain about. Standard Volvo aging. Driver's seat and bolster are in great shape! As you can see below....no dummy lights on during run. ALL the lights come on during startup. Even the "Service" (dealer resettable only) light goes out suggesting a recent dealer visit! The engine light popped on for me once....saying it was a "small evap leak" but I'd like to blame it on me letting the car run while adding gas to the tank....some cars will throw a light if the gas cap isn't sealed. It came on shorlty after I left the station but didn't come on for the miles and miles I drove it initially. I reset it. DON'T FORGET THOSE HEATED SEATS!! All the power items like windows, locks, cruise, AC, climate control, radio, seats, info panel (except sunroof), etc seem to be working properly. 3rd row seating is excellent...you can see I'm holding it up....for some reason the little plastic trim insert is missing...this keeps it latched in the upright position. Easily replaceable. Below you can see the worst of the interior door panels. Again....if desired, a quick trip to the junkyard will easily find a replacement....ALL the S70s and V70s from 98-00 (same body era) were the same. Minimal stains in the carpeting. Full spare setup is intact. Unseen are the full set of factory floormats....my detailer simply forgot to put them back in the car. Note the complete set of rear mats too! Ahhh..here's the meat and potatoes of this car!! The COMPLETE set of factory manuals and cards chocked FULL of Volvo History of Servicing!! Former Illinois emissions compliant sheet. Only one (non-trasponder in '98 for cheaper replacement) factory key and one keyfob. Yes the radio code is correct...had to use it because I had to replace the original Volvo battery that (finally) went dead! So...the battery is nearly new, sorry it's not the perfect sizing, but it's plenty big! New Bosch cap and rotor. New spark plugs. Fresh oil and filter change. Looks to have been a recent coolant flush too! Transmission fluid is clean. Air filter is clean. No signs of any major oil leaks...nothing under the car thats wet nor is it leaving spots on my shop floor when parked. You'll notice below the treasured "VOLVO" timing tag! Not recent replacement, but only a little over halfway thru it's service life. I've also inspected it just to be sure. Water pump isn't leaking either. The ONLY thing I found under the car during inspection....a missing stabilizer link...which I ordered new and replaced...and the passenger right outer CV joint has a little grease coming from a small crack in the boot. It's not damaged all the way, but will need replacment later on in the future. I would just buy the halfshaft (about $80 at PepBoys) and replace the entire unit since it's cheaper than a boot and labor. Again...nothing to worry about this minute. I would just inspect it during oil changes to keep an eye on it. This car is truly ready to go!! Engine starts and runs perfectly. Transmission shifts properly.
