This is a legally binding contract and the last bidder will be the owner of this great vehicle. 1986 Mercury ASC McLaren #213 of 245 produced Museum Investment Quality Mercury produced 245 limited edition ASC McLaren Capri’s from 1984 to 1986. Only 115 were produced in 1986 which made this model #213 and one of the cleanest in existence. The enhanced suspension and performance upgrades added by McLaren with custom Recaro racing seats made these not only a highly sought after car, but the fastest and best performance vehicles offered by Ford at the time. This one owner 18,000 original mile McLaren is one of the finest in existence today. The Original white paint is in good condition throughout the vehicle. There are 2 scratches on the hood and another on the trunk where the bonnet meets the trunk. The original trim and badges are in excellent condition in addition to the blue convertible top. The tires are in excellent condition with plenty of tread life and free of dry rot. The original blue top is in great condition with slight discoloration on rear window due to age. The blue interior is in excellent condition showing little wear on the Recaro seats in great condition. The dash looks new and all gauges work without issues. The factory AC blows ice cold and the factory kenwood stereo system plays music crystal clear. The windows are in excellent condition without any cracks or chips on the windshield and carpet looks great. The 5.0 fuel injected motor makes this an exceptionally fast car. It sounds great and doesn’t smoke. The radiator was recently replaced due to age and doesn’t overheat. The suspension and brakes make it an exceptional handling vehicle through the winding roads near our shop and the automatic transmission shifts through the gears flawlessly without slippage under power. We see and inspect hundreds of potential collector cars each week and we try to convey our professional experience through our various categories in our descriptions. We sell quality classics in different stages and conditions. If we list a car as a classic, the following is what you should expect: Concourse Quality = This is the highest rating we can give a classic car. The vehicle usually has gone through a meticulous, no expense spare restoration. Museum Quality = This is a top rating given to vehicles that have gone through professional restorations have and have been very well kept or are in top original survivor condition. Investment Quality = Mid top range for a classic vehicle that is worthy of collecting. Is solid and well kept through-out and has value in its originality and condition, which is expected to appreciate with time. Drivers Quality = These are collector vehicles that are in good enough shape to be a proud owner and driver. These vehicles most likely wont win shows, but will impress most drivers in the street. Driver quality vehicles do need maintenance and attention in certain areas since many are 40 and 50 year old and attention to keep them driving safely in the streets is constantly needed. Project Quality = We very rarely offer projects and as the word implies these are vehicles that need extended amounts of work and restoration. These areas of conditions are gray, meaning some vehicles are in between areas, a vehicle may be an investment driver or museum investment, etc. We post numerous pictures and give a brief description of the vehicle. Please examine those closely before deciding to bid. We do our absolute best to describe our cars and to convey its condition to you our potential customers, but please understand classic vehicles are OLD vehicles and that they are SOLD AS IS. It is true that our vehicles do sell for a good bargain and fantastic prices, but you are almost always going to pay for what you get. If a car sells for $5,000, you are buying a car within that range of price; in respect to value, collectability, and condition. In the unforeseen situation that there is a major description discrepancy (this is where the 3rd party inspection or a personal inspection is an essential tool), as a last resort a full refund, minus the cost of shipping, can be used to mutually resolve an honest possible misunderstanding.
