Vehicle Detail

I got this Bronco in a group of cars that I traded for recently. I picked it up from a ranch in west Texas. It is a pretty typical hunting Bronco. The old rig has had a 351 W engine and 4 speed swapped in. All of the 4WD stuff seems to work. The engine runs exceptionally well and holds great oil pressure. All the gears and clutch work as they should. The brakes were low on fluid, but after filling them and pumping them up, they worked as good as you could expect 4 wheel drums to work. A larger, heavy duty power steering pump and gear box was installed (probably with the engine swap) and works great. Though it is licensed and legal, I have not driven this truck very much just because I have not had the time or opportunity. I did drive it a few miles to have lunch recently, and other than the fact that the tires whine pretty loud, there were no apparent big issues. It drives straight and has no undue shimmy or vibrations. There are a lot of small piddly items that need attention. The Sun supertach is not hooked up. EVERYTHING needs to have the Lubbock dust washed off of it. It has aftermarket gauges and radio. All of them need work except the oil pressure gauge. It may be a fuse or something that affects all of them, I haven’t checked. The carpet is pretty good, but is dusty. The top needs a gasket and more bolts to keep it from rattling. The driver’s door latch is hard to release. One of the trim rings is bent and won’t stay on. I put a new battery, cables and solenoid on when I got it and it now starts easily. The tires are OK, but are weather checked some from sitting in the sun. If I was going to run it on the highway much, I would replace them, but they are serviceable. There is some rust in the typical Bronco problem areas (inside upper front fender wells) and some minor rust in the floor pans. The pans have been patched, but most of the original is still there. It’s certainly no rust bucket, but does have some. The rust that is there is in easily repairable areas. There are bushwhacker flairs on the rear. The body has been bunged up from off-road work, but is presentable from “30 feet”. There is a huge heavy duty bumper on the front that is set up for a big winch, but no winch is included. The rear bumper is heavy channel with a receiver hitch. If I keep this Bronco, I will probably remove the doors and add the roadster door inserts, take off the top, add a bikini top over the rollbar and drive the wheels off of it during the summer. I can easily be enjoyed just as it is, or could be restored to a higher level if you desire. Bid to win, as there is no reserve on this auction. I am going to advertise it locally for the “Buy-it-now” price here, so if you are serious, you need to hit it now, before someone else does, or I sell it locally and I end the auction. I might even consider a trade of some sort on other collector cars, street rods, or interesting items. If you are interested, come take a look. If you’d like me to consider a trade, make your offer known early, not at the last minute. Every one has a different idea of how good “good” is, so ask questions and/or come look BEFORE buying. Thanks!
