Well Porsche went the extra mile and added a few items to enhance what was already a near perfect car. For starters the all-wheel-drive system was changed from a viscous center differential to an electronically-controlled multi-clutch AWD system (now called PTM Porsche Traction Management) borrowed from its big brother, the 911 Turbo! Now that's a lot of fancy terminology. But in a nut shell, it gives you world class grip and performance by keeping the car extremely well planted on the ground and in control in all driving situations. The computer controlled traction system actually thinks processes the sharing of power to the front wheel in 100 milliseconds, extremely faster than the engine can respond so that the car almost thinks ahead of you! Horsepower is up from a standard 911 that has 345hp to 385hp which is plenty to get a added punch for a desirable difference. Also standard now in the Targa 4S is a locking rear differential for enhanced performance, in the past this was a valuable special ordered option only. Further raising the bar, the Targa's trademark sliding glass roof now comes standard with a sunshade for extra privacy, and the glass is UV tinted to prevent occupants from getting sunburned while driving. The Targas also receive the same LED daytime running lights and taillights as other 2009 911 models. Inside, the Targa 4S will receive the latest version of Porsche's touch-screen audio and this car has the optional updated Navigation system. The new system now connects to almost every communication technology available: Bluetooth, iPod, USB, and auxiliary-input connections. And this is only the beginning... The exterior of this 2009 Porsche Targa "4S" is finished off in a gorgeous Ruby Red Metallic paint. Sporting a look very similar to a 911 Turbo, with its fat wide fenders and epic glass roof, this newly styled Targa 4S is stunning from every angle when you see it! Speaking of roof, the rear section pops up in a hatchback type design to reveal what Porsche calls a "tail gate" design which allows for accessible small storage behind the rear seats and immense storage if you fold the rear seats down for an occasional road trip. The paint has been exceptionally maintained and shows no signs of accidents with only a few very small rock chips that have been touched up by hand.
