For sale is my 1966 Mustang Pro Streeter. Car is powered by a freshly built 289 that was built to be completely streetable and handle a little nitrous also. Transmission is a C-4 that was also gone through. Rearend is a 9-inch with 3.55 gears and a Detroit Locker. Axles are aftermarket and spin satin Centerlines with 29x15.5 Mickey Thompson tires. Rear suspension is made up of coil-over shocks with ladderbars and a diagonal link track locator. Chassis consists of a full 2X3 inch frame tied into the stock front sub-frames. Car has had the front end completely rebuilt and has added front disc brakes…….all of this work makes the car a really nice driver. Body is straight and paint is decent, although this car has been driven and does have nicks and chips here and there. Interior is all stock, and hidden under the front seat covers are the original seats, just waiting to be recovered. Rear tinwork is all steel, and just needs a cut down rear seat and new carpet to really finish this car off right. Below are more detailed specs: - Motor is a fresh 289 with forged pistons / Edelbrock Performer aluminum intake / new Holley 670CFM carb / Pertronix electronic ignition upgrade in a new distributor / Hooker headers / Accel super coil…..Nice lope and very smooth running engine with no leaks…..Very clean - Transmission is a freshly rebuilt C-4 with an 11-inch torque convertor - Front tires are also M/T 165-R15’s - Rebuilt front suspension - 9-inch rear with 3.55 and a Detroit Locker Posi OVERALL: LOOK THROUGH THE PICTURES…….THEY PRETTY MUCH TELL THE STORY Sharp car with decent paint / a good body / nice chassis work…….Car is a great driver…..and has been freshened up front to back with plenty of money spent along the way. Odometer shows 49,146 miles......Have no idea it that's correct or it's 149,146?? Only things I can complain about are: - Factory shifter either needs new linkage or to be replaced by an aftermarket performance shifter (sloppy shifting) - With the factory front seats recovered / new carpet / a “cut down” rear seat installed this car would be REALLY NICE. Look around, you don’t see very many Pro Street Mustangs this vintage, and the few Fastbacks you do see are priced out of this world…….Here’s a chance for you Ford guys to get a NICE and AFFORDABLE Pro Street car.
