You are bidding on a 1968 Chevelle SS clone. I have owned this car for about 12 years. It was an original 307, powerglide car. It is a non-air conditioned car. I have upgraded everything mechanical on the car. This car runs and drives well. The current drivetrain was installed within the last year and I have driven it within a 30 mile radius without issue.The exterior was originally light blue. The front end is all new sheetmetal from Goodmark including an SS hood. The Grill and Headlight buckets are also new. The car was sanded and covered in black epoxy primer. As you can see from the pictures, the rear quarterpanels need replaced or patched. The trunk has a few rust holes and I have a new 3-piece trunk from Goodmark. It has not been installed. I will include it with this car. I stripped the interior, cleaned the floorboards, and installed new blue carpet and a black dash pad. The floor boards were solid and rust free. This was originally a bench seat car. I located some 1968 bucket seats and recovered them and the rear seat with black covers. The interior needs work. It has no headliner and needs door panels, etc.I installed a new fuel tank, a Holley fuel pump, and new flexible fuel lines about 3 years ago. Mechanical details are as follows:Front power disc brake kit from SSBS.Rebuilt stock rear drum brakes.Front end completely rebuilt with performance bushings/ball joints, springs, and shocks.Rebuilt manual steering box installed.12 bolt rear end from a 1971 Chevelle installed. It was rebuilt with all new parts including new performance axles, Eaton Positrac, 3.55 gears, and new bearings and seals.Rear control arms were boxed and urethane bushings were installed. It has new rear springs and shocks.The transmission is a Turbo 350 professionally rebuilt with a shift kit and 3200 rpm stall converter. I have also installed a transmission cooler.The engine is a 406ci (.030 over 400) small block Chevrolet. It was professionally assembled, balanced, and blue-printed with all the best parts. It has hyperutectic 10.25:1 Keith Black pistons, A Comp Cams hydraulic roller 270HR-1 camshaft, Howard's hydraulic roller lifters, Trick Flow cromemoly pushrods, roller rockers, and Dart Iron Eagle heads that have been port-matched and polished. It has Mallory and MSD ignition. It is topped off with a Performer rpm air gap and a custom Holley 750 with a milled choke horn and dual metering blocks. Exhaust exits through coated headers, Flowmaster 40 series mufflers and 2 1/2" exhaust. It is cooled by an aluminum radiator and electric fan. It is able to drive and idle in the Texas heat with no issue.I ran this car once at the the local dragway this summer and it went low 13's at 103 mph while shifting at 5000 rpm. I burned out, but the tires still spun. I am sure it would run 12's with drag radials.It has American Racing salt flat specials, 15"x4" up front, 15"x 8" rear. I have documentation and receipts for over $12,000. This car is tagged, has current inspection, and is fun to drive. I am selling it in order to finish another car project.With interior and body work, this would be a great driver or street/strip car.
