This beautiful limited edition 1978 Dodge D150 Li'l Red Express Truck is being offered for auction by its longtime owner. The Li'l Red Express Truck was only produced for model years 1978 and '79. The '78 Red Express Truck was factory built with a high performance 360 engine. It used the camshaft, valves and dampers from the 1968 Mopar 340, along with parts from the 1978 Police-spec 360. These included a Police 360 intake manifold, roller timing chain and sprockets, windage tray, dual snorkel (chrome) air cleaner and chrome valve covers. The unique large diameter dual exhaust system with chrome cab stacks and stainless steel shields was standard equipment. For model year 1978, only 2,188 Li'l Red Express trucks were produced, while 5,118 were built for 1979. This Express truck was restored by the owner in the late 80's. (It is possible the truck has been in rain only two times in almost 30 years and NEVER snow after the restoration!) The restoration began with as a very nice original, straight and rust free body with matching number drive train. The truck was repainted in the original Canyon Red, with all components being replaced, refurbished or repainted. All the wood in the bed and bedsides including the tailgate was replaced or refinished and has been kept in beautiful condition. The truck's 360 cu. in. high performance engine was rebuilt some years ago, and is extremely strong. This truck has power steering and brakes, and is not equipped with air conditioning. The original wheels have been replaced with a set of Enki wheels. Tires are excellent with very few miles. Although this Li'l Red Express truck was originally equipped with the rare all red bench seat interior, this was changed years ago to factory correct black bucket seats and black door panels. (The red dash panel was retained.) This bucket seat interior was in fact a factory option for the truck. The interior is in excellent condition and could be easily returned to red. The owner has had this truck many years and it is seldom driven. It has always been garaged. This is an excellent opportunity to own one of the most unique high performance trucks ever produced.
