HERE'S A REAL NICE JEEP LIBERTY THAT NEEDS A MOTOR.HERE'S THE STORY. I AM A AUTOMOTIVE TECH FOR AN ELECTRIC COMPANY. WE PURCHASED THIS LIBERTY IN 2004 WITH 39,530 MILES ON IT. IT HAS BEEN DRIVEN BY THE SAME DRIVER SINCE WE BOUGHT IT. HE HAS TAKEN VERY GOOD CARE OF IT AS YOU CAN SEE BY THE PICTURES. THE MOTOR LOCKED UP IN IT SO I BOUGHT IT FROM THE COMPANY. WE DON'T HAVE THE TIME TO WAIT UNTIL IT CAN BE REPAIRED IF IT IS SOMETHING LIKE A MOTOR. THE COMPANY USUALLY JUST SELLS THEM TO THE SALVAGE YARD. I THOUGHT THIS LIBERTY WAS JUST TOO NICE TO DO THAT. MY INTENTIONS WAS TO DROP A LONG BLOCK IN IT AND GIVE IT TO MY DAUGHTER WHO WILL BE GRADUATING COLLEGE THIS MAY. THE REASON THE FRONT IS OFF THE JEEP IS BECAUSE I HAD ALREADY STARTED THE PROJECT WHEN HER GRANDPARENTS INFORMED ME THAT THEY WERE GOING TO BUY HER ONE FOR GRADUATION. I STARTED TO PUT THE LIBERTY BACK TOGETHER BUT I THOUGHT THAT WOULD BE A WASTE OF TIME. SINCE WHOEVER WAS GOING TO BUY IT, WOULD HAVE TO TAKE ALL THIS BACK OFF. I DID BOLT THE AC AND POWER STEERING PUMP BACK TO THE TIMING CHAIN COVER SO THEY WOULDN'T GET BROKEN. I KEEPED ALL THE SCREWS AND BOLTS TO PUT THE FRONT BACK TOGETHER. OF COURSE I DID BREAK 2 OR 3 OF THOSE GENUINE AMERICAN PLASTIC HOLDERS THAT KEEP ALL THIS TOGETHER. AS YOU KNOW , YOU HAVE TO DRILL THE PLASTIC RIVOTS OUT AND JUST REPLACE THEM WHEN IT GOES BACK TOGETHER. SO, I NO LONGER HAVE A NEED FOR THE LIBERTY. I BELIEVE THAT WITH AN ENGINE THIS LIBERTY WOULD CERTAINLY FALL UNDER EXCELLENT. THERE IS NO BODY DAMAGE. THE INSIDE IS CLEAN AS A PIN. EVERYTHING ELECTRICAL WORKS ON IT. WINDOWS, DOORLOCKS, RADIO...ETC. THERE ARE A FEW SCRATCHES HERE AND THERE BUT NOTHING MAJOR. JUST THE USUAL FOR 175,000 MILES. THE DRIVERS SEAT SHOWS SOME WEAR BUT THERE ARE NOT RIPS OR CUTS ANYWHERE ON THE INTERIOR. THE TIRES STILL HAVE 70 TO 75 PERCENT OF WEAR LEFT ON THEM. SINCE I AM THE AUTO TECH. I KNOW EVERYTHING THAT HAS BEEN DONE TO THIS LIBERTY. TRANS FLUID WAS CHANGED AT 66,386 MILES AND AGAIN AT 154,679. ABOUT 7 MONTHS AGO. A ROCK WENT THRU THE AC CONDENSOR AND RADIATOR. SO AT 163,419 MILES, I PUT A NEW CONDENSOR AND RADIATOR ON THE LIBERTY. I PUT A NEW SPEED SENSOR ON IT AT 161,273. THATS ALL THE MAINTINANCE BESIDES OIL CHANGES AND BRAKES THAT HAS EVER BEEN DONE TO THE JEEP. UNTIL THIS MOTOR PROBLEM, IT HAS NEVER GIVEN US ANY PROBLEMS. THERE IS NO UNUSUAL TIRE WEAR THAT WOULD INDICATE BAD BALL JOINTS, TIE ROD ENDS OR ALIGHNMENT PROBLEMS. THE AC COMPRESSOR IS STILL HOOKED UP AND CHARGED. THE ONLY 2 THINGS, BESIDES THE MOTOR THAT I KNOW IS WRONG WITH THE LIBERTY IS, THE WINDSHEILD HAS A CRACK IN IT AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PICTURE. IT HAS BEEN THAT WAY FOR ABOUT 5 YEARS. IT IS NOT IN THE VIEW OF DRIVING. IT DOES NOT LEAK AND IT HASN'T GOTTEN ANY BIGGER. THE SHOCKS THAT HOLD THE HOOD UP ARE TOO WEAK TO HOLD THE HOOD UP. IT HAS NEVER BEEN WRECKED AS LONG AS WE HAVE OWNED IT. IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS LET ME KNOW. THANKS FOR LOOKING. I'M SURE YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED IN THIS LIBERTY. IF I DIDN'T DRIVE A SUBURBAN, I MIGHT HAVE FIXED IT UP FOR MYSELF. IT'S ACTUALLY IN MUCH BETTER CONDITION THAN MY SUBURBAN, JUST MUCH SMALLER.
