Another in our presentations of interesting cars: a 1991 Porsche 944 S2. Black on black, one owner, California registered from new, with a low 84,002 miles elapsed, this car has been loved from day one. Porsche put their best into the S2 line, including Bosch Digital Motor Electronics (DME), their largest ever four cylinder engine at 3.0 liters with twin cam / 4 valves per cylinder (208 horsepower) and weight kept at the 2850 lb level. The result was a very well balanced car that would go 0-60 mph in 6.6 seconds and the quarter mile in around 14.5 seconds. Driving impressions today show a very fast, well balanced car that will still return good fuel economy. Please note: The extremely high auto check score. This car is 1 of 510 produced in 1991, from a total 944 S2 production (1989 / 1990 / 1991) of 3,650. Black exterior with a black leather interior looks great on most any car, and certainly excels here. As mentioned, this car has always been loved (we love it also). The leather is in top condition, the paint is almost unmarked and body fittings etc reflect excellent long term care. All lights, lenses, trim, aerodynamic aids (front chin spoiler, rear lid wing) are in near perfect condition. Passenger fog light has a hairline crack. Rolling stock (tires, rims, and caps ) are in better than great condition. The car drives as good as it looks...S2 cars were equipped with the integrated Turbo front end... ...and rear diffuser / wing package... Tires are almost new -- please not large contact patch, which when coupled with the light overall weight, results in quite high cornering power. Under the hood, all systems are go. The fluids, hoses, belts etc have had constant attention, and at the low mileage covered to date, there is a lot more to go. We usually see these cars with double the miles on them, still operating great. We had a local Porsche expert go over the car, and he had all good things to note. The interior shows meticulous care also. The air conditioning blows ice cold. The heating system produces proper tempature levels. Both power windows and power sunroof operate as designed. All other power options work propely. The car has both driver and passenger side air bags. The dashboard perfect. Low miles (this could be miles on a 2004 car). Near perfect original leather. Summary: One of the best 944s available. The low mileage, color combination, long term care, and S2 specifications make this car a winner. Thanks for looking and / or bidding.
