ABOUT THIS IMPALA This car is high mileage and currently has a crack in the transmission housing (so assume a rebuild on the transmission). That said, it's been my daily driver for years, and has a lot of upgrades. I'll list everything I know here, both good and bad. There are also a bunch of photos below. Feel free to email with any questions. I'm also listing this car locally, so I may end the auction early. If the car doesn't reach an acceptable price, I'll part it out instead. The Good This is a real 1996 Impala, console shift on the floor, not a Caprice clone The paint still looks good, and the front end was repainted a few years back. The lower dash was redone, with the AC controls moved to the bottom and a AVIC Z1 (upgraded to Z2) double DIN navigation system installed with custom Impala screens. JL Audio C2-690tx speakers in rear The back bumper is smoothed urethane. The front bumper is smoothed urethane with openings for fog lights (existing fog lights no longer work) ECM programmed by B. Herter for firmer shifts and better performance and LT4 knock module RAISS forced air intake with Air Force 2 lower addition Code Alarm system with remote start and two way remote All other areas are stock Impala, including rims, interior, LT1 engine No active or stored codes, current NJ inspection. The Bad The transmission housing has a crack in it (caused by a loose manhole cover), so the car cannot currently be driven. The transmission internals still work fine. The engine runs strong, but is high mileage. There is an small oil leak that appears to be coming from the intake manifold. It may just need to be tightened, but I haven't tried it yet. The front seats are definitely worn with multiple tears in the leather. There is also a small tear (1 inch) in the back seat. There's a spot on the spoiler where the paint bubbled off (visible in photos) There is some curb rash on the rims Remote start safety cutoff switch to detect an open hood does not work (the car can start remotely with the hood open) As mentioned above, the fog lights do not function.
