Vehicle Detail
Here it is folks, the last of the IH pickups (1975), in near-perfect original condition. 30,800 miles. I have had this for 15 years or so. Always shedded (even before me). Solid! Bought new in 1975 by a fellow who kept a slide-in camper in it. He did not drive it much. My dad bought it in 1995. He did not drive it much. I inherited it in 2000. I rarely drive it, either. The camper protected the bed and interior. Since 1995 it has always been inside (before that the camper protected it). Interior near-perfect. Gauges nice and bright. 345 V-8 with wide-ratio 4-speed transmission. I have been planning to restore, but know I will never do it. I have always put on NOS parts when needed. Well maintained: re-cored radiator, rebuilt carb, rear-dump manifolds replaced, perfectly tuned, new master cylinder, new tires, etc. I drive it once in a while to keep it going. Drives like a dream. Drive it home on the interstate. Runs slick. A dab of rust at the windshield corners, in the kick panel, and a few drips in the cowl (but always shedded). Bed, floor pans and underside solid! This is as solid as you will find for a truck from the East. Paint a bit faded from its years with a camper on it. Tailgate does not match (but at least be glad I found one a few years ago — original owner had the dealer take off the tailgate when he put in the camper). Have line-setting ticket, all original papers. Truck still has sun visor plastic wrappings. This is a 200 model (3/4 ton). Heavy springs. Has camper installation decal in door jamb, but I do not think it was a Camper Special. I hate to let it go, but we are moving and it cannot go. NOTHING wrong. Everything works (lights, etc.). This is as good as it gets short of one that's been restored! MUST pay within 72 hours. Will take check (if it clears first) or cash. PayPal, too. Check my feedback. I am honest. This truck is a rarity. Reserve right to end early (though not likely to happen). On Jan-12-12 at 14:26:00 PST, seller added the following information: A few things to add: Yes, that is a hole in the kick panel. A brace runs between the kickpanel and the fender, so I guess mud and crud built up there. Floor solid. Water does not splash in. Added line setting ticket. Truck has front disk brakes, back drum brakes, power steering, power brakes, 16" original rims. This truck will, once in a while, puff out a dab of blue smoke. NOT when cold, and NOT when hot, but when it's been sitting hot for about 1/2 hour or 45 minutes. I am told this is an "IH thing" with valve stem seals. Truck does not use oil. It has never been hot or run without oil, etc. Dash is perfect except for radio cover, which is torn a bit (but still there). On Jan-12-12 at 18:06:15 PST, seller added the following information: Forgot to mention — I have a title (not a bill of sale) and the title is clear. No liens. On Jan-14-12 at 12:39:28 PST, seller added the following information: I have added one composite photo of ALL rust on the truck. What you will see in the photo is a cancer bubble at the corners of the hood and windshield, and at the corner posts. One spot (not rusted through) is on the lower driver fender. Because the truck sat out for some years — but with the camper on it, all rust is confined to the upper hood area. The bed and underside are solid. Door hinges and floor pans were unaffected. GVW is 7500, with GAWR 3450 front and 4880 rear.
