Need a vehicle for the snow? (okay so there is an extreme lack of snow this year so far in northeast, yet still...) Then this is the vehicle for you. This is a 1998 Chevrolet Tahoe LT, I purchased from a dealer in CT in 2002. The vehicle had around 60,000-miles on it when I purchased. Need to sell to go from 3 vehicles down to 2. The Tahoe is comfortable to drive, has plenty of power, leather heated seats and a very nice stock sound system and push button 4wd. Condition:Vehicle is in good mechanical condition for its mileage, 4wd and AWD options both work really well in snow. Engine is original and runs well. Transmission was rebuilt at 178,210-miles. Transfer case was replaced with a used one at the same time. Tires are Michelin's LTX's Mud and Snow with decent tread still left (2.5-years old). Shocks are Bilstein replaced in May 2010. Have changed plugs with platinum ones twice. Replaced cap and rotor approximately every 15k-miles. I used a K&N air filter, but when not in place, replaced regular filter every 15k-miles. Intake manifold gasket changed once around 90k-miles. Brakes - front pads and rotors are almost new from April 2011. Synthetic oil used ever since purchased at 60k-miles and replaced every 3k to 5k miles. Small leak in oil cooling lines (very minor, doesn't drip on pavement - these were repalced once at 100,000-miles or so with upgraded version). A couple of drips near front pinion seal (but this is how it has been for at least 50kmiles with no change), and fluids have regularly been checked in rear and front differential. There is a small leak at the water pump area. I have kept up on adding new radiator fluid as needed. No sound coming from pump. Serpentine belt has been replaced several times, and have new one just haven't installed yet (takes 30min or less). A few dimmer lights are out in the radio cluster area. Fuel gauge is not working. Wiper motor replace a couple of years ago. The drivers seat has some wear and a little opening near seat power panel (see picture). There is a little surface rust under the rear passenger side behind wheel well, driver rear door interior bottom, driver barn door interior bottom, and inside wheel wells (fairly minor). Was quoted $500 to fix and paint all these rust spots from Chevy dealer. Maybe 2 door dimples, maybe two small paint chip areas. Bumpers have some surface rust underneath.. Some clear coating or coming up on front bumper. There is a leak in the rear from the window or other (stop light base or roof racks?) or barn door seals that I don't have the time to track down. The passenger side read window seal is starting to bow out (it may be coming from here) from old age. I have tried to take pictures to show any trouble spots so you know what to expect. The underside of the vehicle has held up fairly well (Chevy's galvanizing I think) for this area. I was tried to wash vehicle within 1-week or less of any snow or other event where roads were salted - hate that. Features: LT features. 5.7L 8-cylinder engine. Push button AWD, 2WD, 4x4HI, 4x4LO. Front and Rear air conditioning. Leather seats. Heated and powered front seats, heated mirrors and heated rear window.. Power windows/locks. Remote key lock. Premium sound system/speakers (Bose I think) with cassette and CD player. Garage door opener (Homelink?) in above console with map lights, vanity mirror and lights, sunglasses and other storage. Running boards. Barn doors. Many cup holders and 12v accessory outlets. Smoke-free. Tow bar.
