Vehicle Detail

You are looking at one of the sickest Honda ATC 250R's ever made! This is not a restoration. This is a ground up build of a 1985 250R ATC. EVERY component down to each nut, bolt and washer is brand new. In essence, this is a 2012 Honda ATC 250R. This trike has been built over a two year period with no expense spared... This project started out with a 1985 250R Frame, which was powder coated with a custom mixed color. This color was custom made for two team Ducati Race Bikes. As I know the owner of the powder coating company personally, he let me have the remainder of the batch and it was used to powder coat this frame. It is a metallic charcoal gray with flake... Pictures do it NO JUSTICE! From the frame, I added a 6" stretched LoneStar Chrome Racing Swing Arm and AxeCaliber Axel. Also a Lone Star Bearing Carrier. Every bearing, hose, nut, bolt and washer used is of top quality. All stainless steel bolts and washers. The rear rims are ITP and are currently wrapped in street rubber. This was intended to be built as a drag trike, however, I am also including a brand new set of MAXXIS rear dirt tires. The rear shock and front forks were professionally re-built with new seals, oil and nitrogen. All brand new Maier Plastics and a new Fuel Tank. The seat was custom covered to match. All of the levers are custom aluminum by ESR. The brake calipers, pads, master cylinders and levers are all brand new! These were extremely difficult to come by. Many of the components on this trike were purchased on Ebay and other sources brand new. This is part of the reason that this build took over two years... I would watch ebay for any New or New Old Stock parts that would come up for a 250R and would buy them. If you know anything about these 25 year old trikes, you know that New parts are getting harder and harder to come by! The exhaust system is a brand new FMF Fatty Expansion Chamber and FMF Muffler. And perhaps the best part of this build is the power plant! This is a brand new 1985 250R engine!!! This IS NOT A REBUILD!!! This is an old stock, crate motor! These are getting incredibly RARE!!!! This one was purchased from a guy who owned a Honda dealership back in the mid 80's. After the ban on the 3 Wheelers, he was forced to destroy the frames on all that he had in stock. Once the frames were cut in half, dealerships were legally able to strip them of their parts and sell the parts... This gentleman, had 14 250R's in stock at the time. He removed the engines from them and crated them. They sat in crates in a warehouse for over 25 years!!! I was able to purchase this one from him. Upon receiving the engine, I of course opened it up to confirm its condition... This engine has never been run!!! Once I had it opened up, I polished the side cases, painted the cylinder and replaced the top end and side crank case gaskets, as they were over 25 years old and had just sat! The main crank case has not been opened nor touched! I have photographs of this entire process available for any potential buyer who would like to see the internals of this engine (clutch, piston, etc.) Another reason for having opened up the side cases was to replace the stock 1985 Flywheel and ignition system with an ESR Kit (Eddie Sanders Racing). The kit that has been installed is a conversion which replaces the stock Flywheel and Ignition with a 2001 Honda 250R Dirtbike Flywheel and Ignition. I have included pictures of the differences between the two setups! The 2001 Flywheel is half of the size and half of the weight of the 1985. Plus, the 2001 ignition system is literally decades more advanced! You can read up on this conversion on-line and confirm that it is safe and is a tremendous power upgrade! I have also installed an upgraded Mikuni Carb. This trike is dry, and has yet to have any fluids put into it. I did not want to start the engine, as this would negate the fact that the engine is brand new. This way any buyer can take the trike to any Honda Dealer or Repair Shop and have its condition verified. All premium fluids will be included in the sale (Case Oil, 2-Stroke Mix Oil, Engine Ice Coolant, Brake Fluid, Etc.). These can be filled by the buyer or by the Honda Dealership of your choice. All bolts have been tightened with a torque wrench to proper Honda specs! I have also included a copy of my build sheet on this trike. I currently have just over $10,000 dollars into this build. The trike does come with a title. I am in the process of purchasing a new airplane and am forced to sell off many of my other toys to fund the venture! With this said, I am starting the bidding at half of the cost that I have into this amazing trike and will let it go for top bid, NO RESERVE! My loss is your gain. Good Luck!
