This is a legally binding contract and the last bidder will be the owner of this great vehicle. 1953 Plymouth Suburban Driver Quality The Suburban was Plymouth’s solution to expanding their model lines fueled by consumer demands. The Suburban revolutionized the station wagon market by offering the first all steel body featured a two-door body (plus tailgate) that seated six. The back row of seating folded flat to allow 42 inches of flat floor space which made commercial demands skyrocket. The flat green repaint is in decent condition with obvious signs of wear with a few scratches throughout. The chrome is in decent condition with surface blemishes and dull shine in some spots. There is minimal surface rust around the rain gutters and lower areas of doors. The wheels and hubcaps are in overall good shape with signs of unrestored age. The tires are in good condition with no major signs of dry rot or cracking. The weather stripping around windshield and windows is in decent condition. The interior of this classic is in good condition overall. There is minor rust on floor pans there is no carpet so is clear that it is in good overall shape. The re-upholstered seats are in great condition along with the dash and original gauges. The glass is in great condition with the exception to driver and rear window having a minor crack. The headliner, door panels and steering are all in good condition throughout. The flat 6 cylinder engine is in good condition and could be used as a daily driver. The transmission shifts through all gears without hesitation and slippage. Brakes were recently services with new wheel cylinders they are a little temperamental but work properly. Car quality It is one of the hardest jobs to convey the subjective condition of a classic vehicle through a computer. We see and inspect hundreds of potential collector cars each week and we try to convey our professional experience through our various categories in our descriptions. We sell quality classics in different stages and conditions. If we list a car as a classic, the following is what you should expect: Concourse Quality = This is the highest rating we can give a classic car. The vehicle usually has gone through a meticulous, no expense spare restoration. Museum Quality = This is a top rating given to vehicles that have gone through professional restorations have and have been very well kept or are in top original survivor condition. Investment Quality = Mid top range for a classic vehicle that is worthy of collecting. Is solid and well kept through-out and has value in its originality and condition, which is expected to appreciate with time. Drivers Quality = These are collector vehicles that are in good enough shape to be a proud owner and driver. These vehicles most likely wont win shows, but will impress most drivers in the street. Driver quality vehicles do need maintenance and attention in certain areas since many are 40 and 50 year old and attention to keep them driving safely in the streets is constantly needed. Project Quality = We very rarely offer projects and as the word implies these are vehicles that need extended amounts of work and restoration. These areas of conditions are gray, meaning some vehicles are in between areas, a vehicle may be an investment driver or museum investment, etc. We post numerous pictures and give a brief description of the vehicle. Please examine those closely before deciding to bid. We do our absolute best to describe our cars and to convey its condition to you our potential customers, but please understand classic vehicles are OLD vehicles and that they are SOLD AS IS. It is true that our vehicles do sell for a good bargain and fantastic prices, but you are almost always going to pay for what you get. If a car sells for $5,000, you are buying a car within that range of price; in respect to value, collectability, and condition. In the unforeseen situation that there is a major description discrepancy (this is where the 3rd party inspection or a personal inspection is an essential tool), as a last resort a full refund, minus the cost of shipping, can be used to mutually resolve an honest possible misunderstanding.
