UP FOR BIDS IS AN ALL ORIGINAL BARN FIND 1964 HONDA CT200SUPER LOW MILEAGE 3237 ACTUAL MILES!!!A GREAT RESTORATION CANDIDATE IF YOU'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR AN ORIGINAL FIRST YEAR ISSUE CT200 A SUPER FUN GET OUT INTO THE WOODS DRIVER NOW, IT STARTS IDLES, RUNS AND SHIFTS INTO ALL GEARS! NO RESERVE AUCTION WINNING BIDDER OWNS IT! If you know Honda's you know this is a collectors dream being the first year issue of the infamous Trail 90. In 64 and 65 the bike was branded the CT200 and had the distinctive front end and interchangeable rear gear sprockets allowing both 4 low gear options and 4 high gear optons making the 1964 CT200 a desireable on road/off road bike with outdoorsmen, hunters and those that just like to hit the trail! History: Purchased the bike this summer from the second owner who found it in a local VT barn, it sat for over 30 years since last being registered and needed some TLC.He could not get it running so sold it to me. I got it running and have too many other bike/projects that I need the money for so have put it up for sale. I rode it aprox. 40 miles after getting it mechanically sound and it was alot of fun, has good power when using the large gear sprocket but speed limited. Shifting over to the smaller highway gears allows you to approach speeds up to 35-40 mph. Took it into the VT hills near our home and it climbs well and handles well in the dirt and trails. Smokes some so assume it has an oil leak or worn rings. Smoke was worse when we first got it started but seemed to diminish drastically after driving a few times and with a treatment of SeaFoam.Missing the end of the muffler, otherwise complete. Came to me without mirrors or rear chrome racks which were both options back in 1964.Tires have great tread and appear to be newer with low mileage on them, no cracks so assume they were changed out after it was sold. Mechanical work done: Gas tank was cleaned, dipped and coated to Red-Kote gas tank sealer. Carb was dipped, ultrasonically cleaned and rebuilt with new gasket kit and new float.New battery.New spark plug.Points inspected and adjusted to factory specs.Chrome was cleaned and lightly polished in places (see pics for details).Overall Conditon/Appearance:Overall the bike is in good condition for its age but shows normal wear and tear, especially on the paint and chrome. Lots of scratches on the paint (see photos for up close shots of the worst). Small dent in top of front fender. Chrome overall has generalized pitting typical of a bike 40+ year old bike. Exhaust is surprisingly solid, bike has good quality sound, and outer heat shields and chrome on exhaust is very acceptable. Seat appears to have been recovered with genuine Honda cover as it is in great shape (maybe original cover??). Shifts smoothly but seems a little rough in 3rd gear, not a problem but sometimes pops out of gear. This is a definite drive it now type bike or a solid candidate for rebuild/restoration. CT200 is sold with Bill of Sale (BOS) only, no title. State of VT does not require title on motorcycles under 350cc or older than 15 years. Make sure to check with your local state requirements for registering a vintage motorcycle with a BOS only. Seller not responsible for any registration fees, etc. Again NO TITLE, Bill of Sale ONLY!
