Up for bids is an EXTREMELY LOW MILEAGE 1972 HONDA CB100 SURVIVOR 309.9 ORIGINAL MILES NO RESERVE WINNING BIDDER OWNS THIS BEAUTYA true barn find, purchased recently from second owner. This is an extremely low mileage 309.9 intact original survivor. I purchased this as a restoration candidate for my son, after getting it running and riding it he didn't like the size and power so we have gone in another direction. This all original 100cc beauty is all there with the exception of the mirrors which were missing when I purchased the bike. It runs, shifts into all gears smoothly and brakes function properly. We have ridden it less than 30 miles since getting it running so carb/engine will need final adjustments to dial in.All electric systems function as if new (headlight high and low, blinkers and brake lights). No leaks, squeeks or rattles.Comes with original owners manual + original tool kit! HISTORY:Purchased this summer from 2nd owner, according to him the original owner purchased the bike new for his son who quickly lost interest in the bike after just 270 miles, it was stored in 1975 (registration sticker from 1975 still on front forkl). Unfortunately it was stored with gas in the tank so tank had to be repaired as well as carb overhauled. See list below for all mechanical work done to bike to date. When purchased it had pin holes/rust in gas tank, carb float had holes and was gummed up, missing chain and mirrors and none of the lights worked. OVERALL CONDITION:I would rate this motorcycle as in very good condition for an all original unrestored super low mileage find. Cosmetically I would rate the chrome as good for its age, but in need of attention. Unfortunately, it was not stored in a climate controlled environment and it shows surface pitting on most of the chrome. See pics for close-ups. Certainly acceptable as an unrestored original but fenders will need rechroming to reach show standards. Rims allow they hold a shine have areas of pitting that will need to be addressed. Paint on gas tank needs attention as it shows its age and was touched up rather than restored. Seat is original and in excellent condition. Engine and paint shows wear from corrosion, see pics for close-ups. This bike would be a perfect restoration candidate since it is all there with the exception of the missing mirrors which are still readily availble through most Honda dealers. If restoration is not your thing, this would make an exceptional all original driver that anyone would be proud to own or add to an existing vintage bike collection.
