Vehicle Detail
1966 Mustang Fastback WITH TITLE! Here we have a complete rebuild of a 1966 Mustang Fastback C code Shell. TONS OF PARTS INCLUDED! This project was a joint effort by myself and a well known and respected local Mustang restoration shop (Featured on Dec 2010 Mustang Monthly cover) This was an interesting car when we got it because the bottom was a complete rust out, but the top was in fairly good shape. If you look at the picture you will see that we start with a custom cart that is designed ONLY for 1965-66 Mustangs. This is important because you are going to get the right dimensions every time. This is a HUGE time saver. This shell is ready to put together with the options you choose. At the lower reserve price, you cannot pay a shop to do the work to get a car in this shape. I have 90 pictures on Photobucket…just search jibiss As you can see, the car starts with all new frame rails front and back on the cart and then we progress from there. As you can see, the entire front end and rolling chassis is completely new and then the roof section with door pillars is placed on top and welded in place. Other new parts are entire one piece trunk, entire one piece floor, both quarter panels, but I kept the original lines at the top of the quarters to keep the nice original bends in the metal, which are much sharper and nicer than repo stuff. The entire firewall and upper and lower cowl are all new metal. I have hundreds of hours in making all the parts line up correctly and welding them together. All the welds are solid and weld trough primer was used to help insure a long life for this car. This car is” Ready to ship” I have installed the doors, Fenders and Front Valence. Both fenders are new repros and the Drivers door is new repro. I did not spend a whole lot of time getting the lines perfectly lined up as I feel in order to do this car right, you will probably want to remove then to “jam out” the paint and such. That being said, they installed really close without to much work. Final touches left up to you or your body guy. I have also installed the rear glass as it is the safest place for it to be shipped. The Interior has been loosely installed. I DID FIND A PAIR OF SEATS IN THE SHOP THAT ARE IN NEAR PERFECT SHAPE! NO TEARS HARDLY ANY WEAR AND ARE ORIGIONAL. I HAVE HAD THESE WRAPPED UP AND SEALED FOR YEARS AT THE SHOP AND ARE INCLUDING THEM IN THE SALE OF THIS CAR. Normally I would use seam sealer all over the bottom of this car and then undercoat it. This car is such a pristine example with all new parts; I have decided to leave it in case someone wants to paint the underside. This would be a great car to do that with (Be sure to insulate the inside well or it would be loud!) I have used undercoating only on the rear wheel wells and the front kick panels. There is ZERO Body Filler on the bottom of this car. Just minimal seam sealer mostly along the rocker edge. This car will need a body guy to go over the outside of it. I have painted it with krylon black just to protect it and because it will sand off easily. Most of the new parts are still in the EDP coating with krylon just over the welds areas. The front end has NEW upper and lower control arms. I did not install the springs for safety sake, but did weld some removable jigs to hold the car for transport and work until you are ready to put the springs/ shocks in. The springs are included. The car has Grenada disk brake conversion started. The rear end has been completely torn down and rebuilt with new seals and new Bearings as seen in the pictures. New Magna mid eye leaf springs are installed. Some really cool modifications to this car are the torque boxes, and also this car has convertible rockers installed inside…why you ask? This will stiffen up the body greatly and you can put any engine you like in this car and no chance of body twist I have many of the parts that came off this car when disassembled it but not all were worth keeping. I have a really nice trunk lid, all the working parts and screws out of the both doors. Both side glass, really good original front valence which was the galvanized kind, original and repo rear valence with gt exhaust holes. I have most all the interior which will need restoration. Included are all the seats, fold down parts and trim, Rear interior fiberglass sections. I also have the side vents outside and inside parts. Steering column, instrument cluster, wiring harness, I have many of the brackets and bolts to this car. Rear end is included with driveshaft. Front steering linkage and steering box. Original front springs are included if you want them. THINGS I DO NOT HAVE AND ARE NOT INCLUDED: No Engine or Tranny (Ask for pics of my personal 5.0 conversion) No front glass. The carts, Braces, Jigs and Rotisseries shown in the pictures ARE NOT INCLUDED! They are part of the business. So do not assume that anything else is included that is not listed. If there is something that you want to know or something that you think needs to be included before you bid, ASK ME and I will see what I can do. I have access to a lot of parts. Okay, you may have seen this auction before. I have gone ahead and done more work to the car to get it on the ground and ready to ship. Last auction, I got a ton of interesting emails, questions and people wanting to buy the cart! I have gone ahead and I’m relisting here with a lower price and lower starting bid. I would like to sell this car so I can start on the next one. Remember, this car has a title and lots of extra parts for a great deal! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE ask any and all questions before you bid I will gladly answer them. Message me for my phone number and call me at polite hours and I will talk with you. I URGE you to come see it. Do NOT email me to end the auction early. I am not going to do it. Deposit via Paypal, Cash or Bank Check Only. You pay for and arrange shipping but I will help it get loaded safely. Remember, there are lots of parts to load too. I’ve had this happen before…You are going to want to bid on this or you win it and then you take and show your local auto restoration guy down at the corner. He’s going to tell you that he could do it better, faster and for less money! I’m here to tell you that it’s not going to happen! Ask to see their 1965-66 Mustang cart, or ask them how many they have built like this. I feel I have assembled this car with integrity and care, however it is sold AS IS! THERE IS NO WARRANTY OR GUARANTEE MADE BY MYSELF OR ANYONE ELSE MENTIONED IN THIS AUCTION. This is a sale by a private individual. Good Luck and happy Bidding!
