5 DAY AUCTION AT NO RESERVE - SOLD TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER - OVER 75 DETAIL PHOTOS & A VIDEO This is an original 1965 Ford Mustang Coupe. Found sitting in a garage out in Southern California at a Estate sale. The original owner passed away leaving it behind to his son nearly 20 years ago. Recently, the son passed away as well & never got around to it. It sat in the garage for years sleeping until I stumble upon it & bringing out of hibernation. A true 65' California Coupe with the original Black plates. The original 289ci C Code Automatic is complete & running. Was repainted once in the 80's. The factory color was Twilight Turquoise with White interior. Spent it's entire life in Los Angeles & was garage for over 20 years. Making this a beautiful example of a solid car. All original panels including quarters, fenders, aprons & most important - the undercarriage. The torque boxes & floor pans are in really good shape. You can see the original epoxy primer in certain spots & all the factory welds. The corner of the doors, inner wells, jambs & trunk are clean. The interior is complete with the exception of the horn trim. Looks at one point there was a speaker hole in each of the doors. The original radio is still in place. After so many years of sitting in the garage, I put a newer battery in it, replaced the starter & cleaned out the carburetor. Started right up & drove it around the block. The 289ci is running & driving. Shifts into all gears, power steering & brakes. Please keep in mind, this is not in any condition to be driven home. Overall, needs to be restored but is a great candidate for being original. Being sold as a project. California cars hidden away are becoming just a story. Don't let this one pass you by.
