Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my recently restored 1982 BMW 320i. I had this car listed a week or two back and the auction met my reserve, but the winning bidder fell through. PLEASE send me a message if you plan on bidding on the car so I can verify that you are a legitimate buyer. Any bids from people with no feedback will be rejected I recently picked up an X5, with in conjunction with an E90 335i and E21 320i means I have too many cars. I'm a long time BMW owner (the car listed for sale is my 11th of 12 total). I care deeply about the car and am only willing to sell to the right buyer ... Please be advised that I have the car listed for sale elsewhere and I reserve the right to end the auction early if a sale via other listings comes up. I have hundreds of hours invested in the restoration of this car and have been using it as a daily driver since the restoration was completed in March of this year. I have hundreds of pictures and would be glad to share. Feel free to check out my Flickr page for the bulk of the pictures associated with the restoration; http://www.flickr.com/photos/61798820@N04/ - 90% of car stripped to bare metal - Resprayed in factory Zypressengrun (Cypress Green) - Low miles (~110k) - Car looks, runs, drives, handles, etc. excellent - Body is clean and free of any major dings - Tan interior is nearly flawless, except for cracks in dashboard which is typical of this car and subsequent 3 series cars through the E30. I could help refinish dash if the buyer is interested - New OEM BMW floor mats - Original BBS wheels with brand new tires (less than 1,500 miles) - Bavarian Autosport springs - Bilstein Sport shocks/struts - All new German (Meyle) strut mounts, control arms, tie rods - All new suspension/frame/steering bushings made of urethane for longevity and ride firming. Car rides amazing. Handles like it is on rails, but still soft and comfortable to drive - Bavarian Autosport spark plug wires with NGK plugs - Upgraded 90A alternator in conjunction with the new plug wires has the car starting right up every time ... easy starts in both cold and hot weather - Sony Xplod CD head unit with Aux out and new Polk Audio speakers/components throughout - Scorpion exhaust - European single headlight conversion -As can be seen in the pictures, the car has no front bumper. This was done by the previous owner for aesthetic reasons. The stock front bumper looks terrible and since it is only a minor impact strip, many owners remove it. I have a set of F/R Euro bumpers that can be installed, but they need to be refinished. As of the present time, the Euro bumpers ARE included in the sale, but installation will be the responsibility of the buyer Other than that, the car needs nothing. Despite the age, it'll even pass inspection (in Maryland at least ... it did 6 months ago and the condition is only better now than it was then). I have a bunch of extra parts ... the original double headlights, two sets of mirrors (one set of plastic electric mirrors mounted by A pillars and one set of chrome OEM flag mirrors for door mounting), a complete set of European chrome bumpers complete with custom mounting brackets to adapt to US mounting points (as mentioned above. I never got around to installing them ... they need to be refinished. I was going to have them painted matte black to match the door trim). All parts I have for the car ARE included in the sale ... the bumpers alone are worth $300+, the chrome mirrors $100+, so whether you choose to keep them or sell them, there's quite a bit of extra value included with the sale. Feel free to e-mail to ask questions about the parts in relation to the sale. I'm in no rush to sell, so please, no low ball offers ... I will entertain reasonable offers. After the restore: Nice and clean interior. Only issue is a few minor cracks in the dash During the restore: Complete suspension overhaul with new arms, joints, and urethane bushings New OE German (PPG) windscreen being installed with new gaskets and lockstrips Starting to come back together Euro single headlight conversion ... still have the old double lights Fresh out of paint booth Amazing job on the new Cypress Green metallic paint Primed and ready to go Prep work Starting the tear down Before the restore: Rust along the back (as with any other rust) was completely eliminated, repaired, and/or replaced with new metal during the restoration The car is being sold with no warranty (as-is) either expressed or implied. I've described everything accurately to the best of my ability and the car really is in overall great shape for being 30 years old, so bid with confidence and enjoy what could be your next car!
