Vehicle Detail
1941specialdeluxe Store 1966 Mustang convertible. "A" code GT **THIS IS A TRUE FACTORY GT - NOT CLONE*** It has been stored since 97. It does is NOT have a power top. It is a factory 4 speed but not a "top-loader." Has correct 66 rally wheels (needs red caps). Does not have clock and tack assembly. Would not recommend driving until brakes are checked out (front disc brakes work) and tires are changed. Current tires, while having good tread depth, have been sitting flat and are not now roadworthy. It should be HAULED/TOWED to your location. It has new gas tank, sending unit (old ones were shot from being stored so long), voltage regulator, alternator, coil, points, plugs, plug wires. There is a new brake distribution valve that goes with car, as well as the original one (needs rebuild). It has disc brakes on front, GT master cylinder, etc. Duel exhaust. It will need new paint, new top, new upholstry, new tires, new dash pad, and other similar cosmetics. Runs good, as rebuilt engine only had a few Ks (5K or so) on it when was parked. Currently has pony interior (no light at the bottom of the doors). Car was originally yellow with regular black top and regular (not pony) interior. As to rust, there is some small amount but basically sound body. Have clear NC title. Sounds great when cruising along with the top down, small rumble from the mufflers. The engine and differential have been changed out from original. I don't know if the engine is 289 or 302 and I got the differential (which works fine) from a junk yard when one of the wheel bearings went bad in the original. EXCEPT FOR THE FOUR-SPEED, IT IS NOT A NUMBERS MATCHING CAR. Engine is strong. (Transmission doesn't seem to want to go into reverse. I'll work on it while auction runs. May be the lockout is malfunctioning. I'll take a look at it and update here with results. It worked OK when parked.) A box of used parts (enough to fill the trunk) go with the car. I've described it the best I can. Feel free to ask questions. This will probably be a great buy for somebody. Reason for selling; need $$$ to help finish restoring my 1941 Chevrolet Convertible. So the Mustang must be sacrificed. (Hard decision there.) There is no warranty of any kind , implied or inferred. Car sold "as is, where is." Miles are probably 145K. It wouldn't take much to make this a nice driver but quite a bit to make it a show car. While Ford made a bunch of Mustangs back in 1966 they made relatively few GT convertibles. Bid accordingly. Low staring bid with NO reserve! DATA Plate is missing. I took a lot of pictures to show the cars condition, please email me if you have any Q's VIN # 6T08A239690 On Nov-27-11 at 12:48:33 PST, seller added the following information: **Correction - Reverse works fine**
