I am a private restorer and collector and have been focused on vintage Hondas since the 60's. I was the head judge (Japanese class) for 3 years at the original Del Mar Concours. This S-90 won Best in Japanese Class. This is the early production, higher horsepower version with correct off-set carb, long curved intake manifold with aluminum cylinder and head. The bars are also the early correct flatter sport bars as delivered from Honda. Its easier to tell you what is NOS on this bike rather than used because the majority of the bike is OEM correct NOS Honda new parts, not refurbished parts. Basically the frame, engine and swingarm are original to this bike with everything powder coated to the correct matched Honda Red. The bike is an original Escondido, San Diego, one-owner bike that had just hit 2,000 miles on it when I purchased in in 1990. I have pics of the bike unrestored. It is a California black plate bike as you can see. The original engine and trans were torn down and fully rebuilt with NOS parts. The crank is original with new bearings. It is still on standard bore with NOS pistons and rings professionally matched to a cross/hatched bore etc. I ran it 1.1 miles, took it to Del Mar, won first place then drained it and stored it ever since in second floor of my shop out of the sun of course. the bike was restored to Concours De Elegance standards. Not over restored or over polished. Most of these parts have not been available for many years. I purchased all of the parts pre 1991 when I traveled the USA working for Yamaha.
