Vehicle Detail
What it is: This is my personal BMW 323i. It is a daily driver in excellent condition. History: My mother and father (75 years and 80 years old, now) bought this BMW new, from Momentum BMW in Houston in 1999. They took possesion of the 2000 BMW while in Germany, because BMW had a promotion going on then- a free trip for two to Germany, with the purchase of a new BMW ! They had a great time in Germany and came home to their brand new 323i. Shortly thereafter, my mother was involved in a little fende-bender, resulting in the left front headlight being replaced, and some paint/ body repair in the area. My mother contined to enjoy the car for many years, before selling it to me (her son) when the car had 50,771 miles on it. I have enjoyed the car for many years and it now has about 101k miles on it. What's It Got On It?: My mother ordered this car for her. It is the "standard" 323i plus.....Automatic Transmission ($1200), Premium Package ($2590), Moon Roof ($1050), Wood Trim ($500), Xenon Head Lights ($500), and Fog Lights ($260). The total price of new BMW was $33,985. Bottom line is that it has everything you'd want (except a CD player). The car has dark window tint too - it's perfect. Cosmetic Condition: The car's exterior is in fantastic condition. There are no significant blemishes anywhere and the paint remains superb for it's age. It has always been garaged. The glass is excellent, but there are two very small "pits" in the windshield where a rock hit the glass. These are about the size of a pin head. No cracks anywhere. The interior (heavy BMW vinyl - similar to Mercedes MB-Tex) is almost flawless. I have included a pic of the most worn driver side bolster. A speaker cover came off the passenger side door, and a the same thing happened to the driver door (with the speaker then falling into the door). These are easlity repaired....just haven't gotten around to it. Everything else is like new or excellent condition cosmetically. The wheels are excellent, as shown - a few scratches, but no "curb rash" on the 16 inch alloy wheels. Mechanical Condition: The car runs like a BMW should. That in-line six might be the smoothest six cylinder engine anywhere. Butter smooth. Everything works, but their are a few of the orange pixels on the display that have burned out. The check engine light is on about 50% of the time. I had this looked at by a BMW mechanic and he thought it needed a new gas cap. We replaced it, but is still on about 50% of the time. My mechanic said he is sure it's a slight vaccuum leak and recommended I just disregard it. I took his advice. The tires don't have a lot of tread left....I would guess you could run them about 5k miles more before you should put new tires on. I would not hesitate to drive the car anywhere, anytime. No issues with the engine or transmission that I know of.... The car gets about 28 mpg cruising at 75 mph :) If I were Going to Keep It: I would re-mount the one speaker, and replace the speaker cover. New tires within 4-5k miles. That's it. Why Sell?: I would keep this car, except that I just took delivery of a company-provided car. What You Get: You'll get the car, all maintenance records (there are no serious repairs, only routine stuff), all owners manuals, 2 original keys, and a clear title. I will also pick you up at the Lubbock, Texas airport (LBB) if you fly in / drive home. Our airport is served by Southwest, Delta, Continental, and American. Terms: I will need a $500 depsit within 48 hours of the auction close. Balance of Payment due within 5 days of auction close. I will keep the car in my garage until you (or shipper) pick it up within, say..........15 days (I am flexible). I will cooperate with a shipping company, but you need to make the arrangements if you want to ship it.On Nov-19-11 at 05:42:22 PST, seller added the following information: Added Information : 1. Our plans are to auction the BMW in a "No Reserve" format. There is no "Buy It Now" price. 2. The car runs and drives great. It streers fantastic, just like a BMW should. It feels like it's on rails. 3. The car has had a recent (7/11) Texas State Saftey inspection, so all the lights, brakes, etc. are working just fine. 4. If you would like to drive the BMW, that is fine. We are located in Lubbok, Texas. Just call us and we will make arrangments. My phone number is 806-799-2898. The auction ends Sunday.........
