Vehicle Detail

For sale by owner: 1994 Mercedes-Benz E320, Cabriolet 2D. Here is your chance to get a classic car at a great price! Reason for selling: We got this car in 1994 and it has been in our family ever since. We are now looking for a new car, and don’t want to put any more money into this one. Condition: The car is in fair condition. The seats need restoration, some paneling is loose, there are some scratches here and there, so overall, the car does need some maintenance and polishing up. There is nothing major wrong that I am aware of. Shipping: Buyer responsible for vehicle pick-up. Note: Currently the car has a dead battery (We haven't been using it because it's too small for our family), We have jumped it and it worked. As I mentioned above, we don’t want to put any additional money into the car. Car is sold AS IS. Take a look at the pictures, and please ask any and all questions.Good luck!On Nov-13-11 at 10:24:23 PST, seller added the following information:11/13/2011 UPDATE: Based on the many questions I have received already, here is some additional info: 1. The convertible top does work. 2. The car has been serviced regularly at the dealership. 3. No major repairs or replacements have been done, or needed to be done. 4. The fabric for the convertible top was replaced, as you can probably tell by the pictures. 5. The accident in 2006 was very minor, only resulted in scratches on the bumper, which are still there. 6. The dealership did recommend we get the engine harness replaced at some point, but it is not required at his time.On Nov-17-11 at 17:21:07 PST, seller added the following information:11/17/2011 UPDATE: Here is some additional info, based on more detailed questions: 1. I uploaded new pictures, showing: driver’s seat, close-up of bumper, middle console, and headliner. Take a look. 2. The driver’s door takes a bit of force to shut. 3. The engine makes a knocking noise after starting, we have been told that this is because it has been sitting a while, and has to do with the lifter, but nothing to worry about. Lastly, here is a video (no sound needed), just showing a quick tour around the car. It may help you decide: Click HereOn Nov-20-11 at 10:48:22 PST, seller added the following information:11/20/2011 UPDATE: Couple more items: 1. Took a look at the car today, and the wooden panel I mentioned which was loose, has come off of the door some more. 2. The middle console is missing a wooden panel sliding cover. I added 2 more pictures to show these items. Only 2 days left, good luck!On Nov-20-11 at 16:12:44 PST, seller added the following information:11/20/2011 UPDATE #2: A potential buyer came by today, and a review of the car was done. The following additional items were noticed: 1. The top does need manual assistance to go back up. The top worked fine the last time I tested, which was roughly 5 months ago. I am not sure if it is struggling now because it was sitting a while, but wanted buyers to be aware that when tested today, it needed someone to pull on the top to keep it moving. 2. When the AC is on, it blows cool air out of the middle vents, but the side vents blow heat for some reason. These sides vents can be closed. Thanks! On Nov-21-11 at 19:55:22 PST, seller added the following information:11/21/2011 UPDATE: Probably my last update. Good Luck! 1. When we tested the car yesterday, the engine noise did go away. I think this most likely confirms that the noise was related to the lifter, and because the car has been sitting for a while. The noise has not been professionally looked at though. 2. The radio needs a security code, since the battery has been dead. I have not used the radio in at least 5 months, so I cannot completely guarantee that everything works, but it did 5 months or so ago. Thanks!
