This is a 1989 Volvo 240DL that is being auctioned off with no reserve. First the bad news. The engine overheated and to the best of my knowledge it damaged the head gasket. We took it up to our mechanic and he made the diagnosis. The engine does run, at least the last time we tried, though it does run rough. I drove it to its current location which was about a 5 mile trip. There is a chance, depending on how far away you live, that you could drive it home, but I would not be comfortable trying and would suggest that it be moved. Prior to this, the car was dependable and was driven daily. There are a few rust spots on the car, including on the passenger side rocker panel. The car has minor nicks and scratches, but there are no dents or noticeable damage. To the best of my knowledge everything else works fin including the transmission, lights, locks, etc. The air condition does not cool very well, but the compressor is not locked up. I think it just needs freon, but I'm no expert. The car does not come with any warranty expressed or implied. The good news is that it only has 115,600. The car has not been smoked in, at least not while we've had it, and had no smoke odor when we got it several years ago from the previous owner. The seats are in good shape. There are no tears and they don't look to be excessivley worn. The 115,600 miles is pretty low mileage for this model car and it is certainly worth fixing up, in my opinion. You can see a lot of these Volvos for sale with twice the mileage, so it should have some good life left in it. The winning bidder will have to make arrangements to pick it up. Transportation is the responsibility of the new owner. The car is currently located in Memphis, INDIANA which is just about 10 miles outside of Louisville KY. This was my daughter's car, and she bought herself a VW Jetta, so we don't really have a need to fix up this one. If you do, it should be a pretty nice car.
