Some will call it green. Some will call it blue. I call it beautiful!! Did you know that nearly EVERY movie has a Volvo in it?? Never noticed before? You will now!! If you are like me, some of the fun good ol days of driving around a cool car are long gone. Kids, job, money, storage....many things keep you from the fun factor.....but.....Here's your loophole!! Family car.....2.3 turbo (rated 225-245hp depending on source)....LOW MILES....safest car in the world....RARE 5-Speed.....gas mileage.....and AFFORDABLE!! I know because I personally drive a 98 S70 T5 5-Speed with 220k miles!! Of course this car isn't new...the bumper covers have seen better days. A few dents and a handful of dings. NO signs of rust or repairs. But mechanically this car is golden! Well kept. Clean fluids. No forseen problems or issues. I've done my usual inspection of the car. Spark plugs and air filter are Volvo issued and fine. Oil is recent and clean. Brakes will throw you thru the dash if needed. Parking brake pads have been recently replaced. I fixed the ABS/Traction control module issue (factory flaw from Volvo = no worries!) and I'm providing you with a NEW Volvo Timing Belt!! Just pick your trusted mechanic and install! For the most part, the body panels look good. Typical scratches and scuffs from 12 years of use. If desired, the dings can be dentbusted. The minor dings on the hood and body are so small, you have to lean and sway at angles to see them. The large dent (see below) is right at knee height behind the door strip. I honestly believe if the rear interior door panel was removed, it could be popped out. I love driving this car. I've logged about 300miles to ensure it's reliability. Plenty of tread on the front Michelins (Volvo issued brand), rear Bridgestones have decent tread but will need replacing soon. All tires are on clean vibration-free rims! Obviously you saw the door dent....below you can see a repairable ding. Rear bumper cover doesn't have cracks or damages but could use a repaint since the paint is peeling. The passenger side is it's photogenic side!! Below you can see the front bumper cover damage. Nothing fancy about this cover...same as ALL 98-00 S70s and V70s. I'd personally hunt down a V70R model nose and install it!! S70s NEVER had an "R" model that I'm aware of...it'd be a great addition! The interior is gorgeous!! I've never seen the pattern before. Leather/vinyl outers with nice cloth centers. ICE COLD A/C...even tho it's to be cold soon.....HOT HEAT....HEATED SEATS!! All power items including the windows, locks, dual climate control, cruise, info panel, trac control....everything works as it should!! As you can see below...ALL the dummy lights illuminate upon startup. I did the ABS unit resolder repair so no problems there(you can do a search on this issue if needed). Only the "Check Engine" light came on once for me, but I believe it was related to the ABS unit as it is now off. Pioneer CD play is a nice piece. Detachable face along with a remote. Power antenna needs a new mast so currently it's in a fixed position. If you stare hard enough you can see the 2 (TWO) Factory ignition keys and 1 (ONE) working Factory Keyfob!! Yes these are the Transponder type so you won't need to spend big bucks to replace! Sorry....no floormats or manuals. Spare tire setup is complete and intact. Below....my favorite part of the car...the "so clean you can eat off it" engine compartment! Recent Car Quest battery is strong. Starts perfectly every time. Runs smooth and strong. Transmission shifts perfectly. Clutch is tight with no slipping. No signs of it needing replacement at all. CV joints/Suspension are tight and noise free. No rattles. No popping. No squeaks.
