I have owned this dear little car since 1983, and it has been my main principal transportation for most of that time. It had been converted to left-side drive before I bought it. In 1987, we replaced the 940 cc engine with a rebuilt 1098 cc engine. Over the next 25 years, the car has undergone regular maintenance, interior restoration and a paint job. Among the most significant mechanical upgrades was installation of a Weber 40 DCOE carburetor, APT exhaust system and front disk brakes in 2003. This year, the head gasket was replaced and we re-upholstered the front seats and restored a few interior details. The exterior paint is in good shape, with just a few minor scratches. Since it has been in the arid climate of Santa Fe, New Mexico, at least for the whole period that I have owned it and possibly longer, rust is not an issue. People turn and smile at you when you drive this car! A non-refundable payment of $500, by cash or bank-to-bank wire transfer, received within five days of the end of the auction, will secure the car to the winning bidder, pending inspection of the car by the bidder or a mechanic employed by the bidder. If the bidder is unable to come to Santa Fe, we will take the car for inspection by a local mechanic of your choice. Inspection of the car and payment of the balance by cash or bank-to-bank wire transfer will be required within two weeks of the end of the auction, or the car will be re-advertised. Title will be transferred when our bank confirms funds are received.
