Vehicle Detail

PLEASE NOTE:  I just noticed that the Experian AutoCheck displayed in this listing about the car says there is a title issue for the vehicle not being within mechanical limits.  This is INCORRECT.  I will upload a picture of the title tonight and contact the MVA to ensure that the issue is resolved.  Please rest assured that this car has a clean title and is most certainly within mechanical limits Up for sale is my recently restored 1982 BMW 320i I recently picked up an X5, with in conjunction with an E90 335i and E21 320i means I have too many cars.  I'm a long time BMW owner (the car listed for sale is my 11th of 12 total).  I care deeply about the car and am only willing to sell to the right buyer ... I'd like to see it go locally, so I could still spot it around town.  I have hundreds of hours invested in the restoration of this car and have been using it as a daily driver since the restoration was completed in March of this year.  I have hundreds of pictures and would be glad to share.  Feel free to check out my Flickr page for the bulk of the pictures associated with the restoration; http://www.flickr.com/photos/61798820@N04/ - 90% of car stripped to bare metal - Resprayed in factory Zypressengrun (Cypress Green) - Low miles (108k) - Car looks, runs, drives, handles, etc. excellent - Body is clean and free of any major dings - Tan interior is nearly flawless, except for cracks in dashboard which is typical of this car and subsequent 3 series cars through the E30.  I could help refinish dash if the buyer is interested - New OEM BMW floor mats - Original BBS wheels with brand new tires (less than 1,500 miles) - Bavarian Autosport springs - Bilstein Sport shocks/struts - All new German (Meyle) strut mounts, control arms, tie rods - All new suspension/frame/steering bushings made of urethane for longevity and ride firming.  Car rides amazing.  Handles like it is on rails, but still soft and comfortable to drive - Bavarian Autosport spark plug wires with NGK plugs - Upgraded 90A alternator in conjunction with the new plug wires has the car starting right up every time ... easy starts in both cold and hot weather - Sony Xplod CD head unit with Aux out and new Polk Audio speakers/components throughout - Scorpion exhaust - European single headlight conversion Currently, there are only 3 minor things that need addressing - The car needs a new windshield wiper switch/stalk, hence the reason the pictures don't show wipers on the vehicle.  It's a common fault of the car ... the stalk has gone bad and as a result the wipers don't shut off.  I've ordered a new one and it will be fixed before purchase. - The hazard switch is faulty and is stuck in the on position.  Again, not an uncommon failure on this car.  I've ordered a replacement and it will be fixed before purchase - One of the rubber exhaust hangers is torn.  A new one has been ordered and will be fixed before purchase - As can be seen in the pictures, the car has no front bumper.  This was done by the previous owner for aesthetic reasons.  The stock front bumper looks terrible and since it is only a minor impact strip, many owners remove it.  I have a set of F/R Euro bumpers that can be installed, but they need to be refinished.  As of the present time, the Euro bumpers aren't included in the sale.  If the buyer is local, I'll throw them in with the purchase.  If not, I'll be willing to sell them for $100 each.  If the car goes for a decent price, I'll toss them in for free. Other than that, the car needs nothing.  Despite the age, it'll even pass inspection (in Maryland at least ... it did 6 months ago and the condition is only better now than it was then). I have a bunch of extra parts ... the original double headlights, two sets of mirrors (one set of plastic electric mirrors mounted by A pillars and one set of chrome OEM flag mirrors for door mounting), a complete set of European chrome bumpers complete with custom mounting brackets to adapt to US mounting points (never got around to installing them ... they need to be refinished.  I was going to have them painted matte black to match the door trim).  As of now, the EXTRA parts aren't included in the sale ... the bumpers alone are worth $300+, the chrome mirrors $100+, but as mentioned above, depending on the terms of the sale, I might be willing to include them with the car.  Feel free to e-mail to ask questions about the parts in relation to the sale. I'm in no rush to sell, so please, no low ball offers ... I will entertain reasonable offers. After the restore: During the restore: Complete suspension overhaul with new arms, joints, and urethane bushings New OE German (PPG) windscreen being installed with new gaskets and lockstrips Starting to come back together Euro single headlight conversion ... still have the old double lights Fresh out of paint booth Amazing job on the new Cypress Green metallic paint Primed and ready to go Prep work Starting the tear down Before the restore: Rust along the back (as with any other rust) was completely eliminated, repaired, and/or replaced with new metal during the restoration On Nov-02-11 at 08:03:27 PDT, seller added the following information: FOLLOW UP TO MY ORIGINAL NOTE:  I went to the MVA this morning.  They pulled up the records and did confirm that the paperwork I filed DID NOT say "Exceeds Mechanical Limits" and the MVA mistakenly recorded it.  They corrected the issue, gave me a new title (image attached below), and sent a fax to both CarFax and AutoCheck (the system eBay uses and is viewable in this listing) to correct the issue.  They said it should take 1-2 days for the update to reflect in the AutoCheck report, so it will show the proper information BEFORE this auction ends.  Please bid under this assumption and rest assured that I won't collect payment until the issue is resolved Photo of the new title, properly reflecting that the mileage listed is the actual mileage
