We are auctioning a custom build of a Trans Am with your choice of a Pontiac 400 or Oldsmobile 403, 350 turbo automatic transmission and t-tops. Fully restored to like new condition, at NO RESERVE. Most of the 1977-1978 auctions we've done have had a reserve of 20k, but this is true NO RESERVE auction. In the past 8 years of these auctions, we have always honored the winning bid, no matter what it was, the lower price doesn’t affect the quality. We are an assembly line so the process can’t be altered whether you pay 15k or 25k. Our workers have lists to do on every chassis coming down the pike. They have no idea what you paid. All new interior in your choice of color; black, red, tan, blue or white. Any exterior color in the DuPont color book. We may do over 100 units per year, but we have a great quality control person to make sure the small details are kept in check. These cars sell over 25k fully restored normally, this is a great special to achieve that goal of TA ownership for 2/3 of the price. It links eBay's sister company for insurance to protect the customer. Our feedback does have one negative from thirty days ago. This auction winner was offered the same payment options and a plane ticket to visit our location. After some discusstion, the prospective buyer could not be made happy with payment arrangements. In fact, we were forced to refuse his build and let him simply back out of the deal. Getting a retraction there has proven difficult, as we cannot control our competitors free speech. However, we have now received retractions and apologies on the other two sites. We have made believers out of the ones who posted the negativities. After they had come to visit and did research, they found they were totally wrong in these statements made in haste, and have since made their retractions and apologies. But, this did leave the 78 & 79 auctions at their lowest bids in years, for those that follow us monthly. Two winners are going to steal their 30K builds because of this misfortune, uncontrollable by our compnay. They both are 9K below our website prices as of now. This should be an interesting end with the flood of emails and calls yesterday.
