Vehicle Detail

1967 Ford Ranger F-250 Camper Special 2wd. Very clean, straight body, good restoration candidate or just daily driver. I think I am the third owner but am not sure. We bought it two years ago and it has served us very well. We live in a winter snow area and are selling to fund a 4x4 truck. This truck is a classic. We decided to put it on Ebay because it is more likely someone here will appreciate it, rather than sell it locally to someone who will drive it into the ground. It has an amazingly straight body, with no rust except slight little patches of surface rust where the paint has worn off. Panels are clear and not ding'd. Almost all original trim is in place, except the passenger bed side rail. Overall this truck has been well cared for. Repainted once, it used to be a two tone white/Teal and now is all white, but the newer white coat is peeling off in some places. (see photos). Some of it has been sprayed white with spray paint but most has been left as is. Give it a fresh paint job and it would look stunning. The aluminum grill is straight, in great shape and still shines. Sometime in the 80's- 90's this truck was retro-fitted with a 1976 Lincoln 460, mated to the matching c-6 transmission. There is good power and torque, much stronger than the stock engine. The engine will need a freshen up someday soon, but still runs strong and very reliable with good oil pressure. Burns about a quart of oil each month and smokes a bit on starting, but after warming up, is just fine and runs VERY strong. We used this truck regularly to carry our slide in camper and it doesn't slow it down. We also drove this truck on a 800 mile round trip to San Francisco and back, and it performed flawlessly. Shortly after that trip we noticed the carb leaking a bit so I had the holley carb rebuilt. It starts up with manual choke and runs like new. The truck has done numerous 200 mile day trips to Ventura, and I wouldn't hesitate to drive it across country tomorrow. The heater works, dome light works, turn signals, headlights/high beams, engine gauges all work. Unfortunately the fuel gauge stopped functioning a couple of months ago due to some electrical glitch. I am convinced it's not the fuel sender and am attempting to track down the loose wire. This happened right after I installed the utility trailer wiring, which works flawlessly. The original AM radio is present but does not function. The door locks and windows function properly. The truck was set up for an auxiliary fuel tank, but the tank, hoses and filler is gone. The tires are almost new, with about 4 thousand miles on them. They are Futura Brand "Scramblers" a sort of an all terrain tire for high load applications. They are Load Range E for carrying a camper. The tread is in great shape and they are only about two years old. Interior is generally nice looking, a little wear on the driver's window sill paint. The dash pad was cracked so we covered it with a carefully cut piece of carpet. The original floor carpet is also wearing through by the driver's side entry, but otherwise looks nice and is covered by a pair of carpet mats in tan color. The seat is velour and is worn a bit thin on the driver's side, so we covered it with the gray cover. The structure and foam of the seat is in great shape. The metal dash and plastic gauge cluster are all in great shape. The chrome around the interior windows and headliner looks good but has slight pitting. The rear bumper is strong and has an integrated high-strength trailer hitch. There is no tailgate. We do have a ford tailgate that was supplied with the truck but it has no hardware and I think it's from a different year. You can have it if you like. There is a new alternator and starter. The previous owner told us that the front end (Twin-I-Beam) had recently has work done to it. It is very tight and steers well. The steering wheel is about 45 degrees rotated to the right when going straight, I believe this means a trailing arm adjustment required. The shocks are tight and the springs do not sag. I changed the transmission fluid (replaced with Ford Type-F). I also bled all brake lines, completely replacing the old brake fluid. It has a new Napa brand master cylinder, but I would like to get the actual one from LMC Truck. The brakes and steering are non-power manual style. There is no AC. Dual exhaust exiting out both sides in front of the rear tires. I hope someone will appreciate this truck and take care of her for a long time. I rarely see this year on the road any longer, never mind in such great clean shape as this Ranger. Title is clear and pink slip is in hand. Thanks for reading, any questions please ask.
