Vehicle Detail

Available for the 1st time in 4 decades is an extremely nice 1969 Cougar. This is a standard model, spent its whole life under the palm trees in Calif. and has only 62XXX Actual miles as noted on Calif. title. Factory black on black car and 100% never molested, still a 2-V carb., quiet single exhaust, new whitewall tires and orig. hubcaps and AM radio. Never had the 8 track, air shocks, cherry bombs and Cragars etc., you get the idea. Factory Raven Black color, never hit or rusted body, all original panels, no bondo and just treated to a high quality repaint that was done right. Laser straight panels, all glass perfect. New rechrome orig. rear bumper, front is orig. and very nice. Hood and trunk mouldings just expensively restored. Sequential lights and hiedaways work as they should. Everything inside works except radio, gets crappy reception. Very nice rim-blow wheel but needs a new switch, (there is a added horn button under dash and it works.) Perfect dash, as nice as they get, headliner is orig. and very nice. All door and interior panels are gorgeous. Seats are all original and really couldnt be better. Carpet is new as orig. was faded. All weatherstripping is new, originals were dry and hard.351 Windsor starts on the first key bump, smooth quiet, strong and drip free. FMX works perfectly and was just serviced and resealed as was rear diff. Power steering works great as do the drum brakes. Car goes down the road like new, this Cougar actually drives as good as it looks !! Trunk is way cool, original spare never down, factory mat, stickers intact, paint dabs on trunk spring and jack handle and spare rim and paint inspectors name still looks freshly inked. Engine compartment was dingy as 40 year old cars tend to be so has just gone through a 120 hour freshening. Bare metal repaint, new date coded belts, hoses, clamps, wires etc. Original yellow top coil, P/S pump correct color, all hardware is restored or new. Factory air cond. has new lines, re-man compressor and blows cold. Underhood is show cond. thru-out. I do not have a hoist but this dry desert survivor is rock solid underneath. Red oxide primer is prevalant, front coils still wearing paint dabs, inside of inner fender still has factory crayon writing, (see pic). Desert cars are the best !! This one was owned by an 81 year old attorney from San Francisco who kept this one at his winter home in Palm Springs, thus the low miles and incredible condition. I have a partial build sheet, owners manual and the orig. owners card. The car is being sold with the hub-caps and whitewall tires. The styled steel wheels are expensively restored originals and just for the pictures i mounted a set of NOS Firestone Super Sport bias ply redline tires. Winning bidder can discuss the redline package with me at auctions end. 1969 was the last year Calif. issued the black lic. plates, this Cougar has 2012 tabs in place so there is NO question as to where this one has been. Duplicating this one would be difficult at best, opportunity knocking, will you answer?? Now for the business end. I am a Cougar fan, love these cars and i am also a licensed and bonded dealer in Minn. As such, all title work etc. will be to the letter of the law. I require a non-refundable deposit within 48 hours of auctions end. Bal. within 7 days. I highly value my 100% feedback, have sold a lot of old cars on E-Bay and want only happy buyers. It is therefore my strong suggestion that you ask any and all questions, i will give honest answers. I will allow inspections and test drives of the car by you or a 3rd party but only before auction ends, not after !! I can assist with shipping arrangements and can store indoors until picked up. Please dont ask the reserve, bid what your heart and wallet dictate. Also, please get all your financial and other ducks in a row before bidding, i cant deal with after auction excuses, its not fair to me or the other bidders. Call with any questions, my name is Jim and my cell is 763-227-6128. Thanks for reading and happy bidding !!
