Vehicle Detail

Here is my 1977 Cherokee WT. It is either a Chief or "S" I have never been sure, but it has the two tone paint and the Indian Head emblems. 360,T-18,D-20. 3.54 (3.56?) gears with limited slip rear. 3-4" lift, 33" BFG MT's. I have had it for 7 years. It's been a project and it's probably still a project. However, so much has been done, it's really close. The Good: The interior is excellent, carpet re-done, new dash pad, and front seats reupholstered. The rear seat is original. There's a gun rack on the inside passenger rear window. Sound and heat insulation has been added under the carpet. There is a nice set of new mats. All windows work. The tailgate window is in the middle of a power window conversion. motor is partially installed, proper harness wiring is present. Switch almost installed at dash. Engine harness and under dash harness have all been re-wired with stock parts. The Dome and courtesy lights work. Suspension and sterring is tight and not tired. Shocks are great. No rear spring sag. Has hard to find "valley" rear tire and gas can rack. Nice front aftermarket brush guard. fog/driving lights. (not wired but looking good) Headlights have been upgraded to bright Hella halogen beams. All side marker light and front turn signal lenses and bulbs have been replaced. Taillights are brand new LEDS conversions from BJs offroad. Turnsignals work. Highbeam switch works. Custom TPI -Tech gauge conversion, Tach, Digital Speedo, Oil, Gas, Temp, Volt. Special vintage wooden wagon wheel rim inserts, like nothing I've ever seen. Brakes have been redone - rears have been completely rebuilt. New master cylinder. All lines bled and fresh fluid. All wheel bearings have been done. Heater works. Engine: 360 has been rebuilt a few years back, .40 over. Rebuilt 2150 2bbl carb. Good oil pressure 25psi at Idle, 60 at 2000 rpms. Just installed a Comp Cams XE260H and refreshed the main and rod bearings because a lifter went bad a year ago. BJ's aluminum radiator and electric fan. New alternator. Flowcooler waterpump. Edelbrock Ti-Tech shorty headers with AIR tubes. Just started and timed to 8 degrees. Engine Needs broken in and possibly some final carb tuning, it stumbles off idle. At this time it runs warm too, about 200 degrees. Choke works well. Will need oil change in a few miles. New Centerforce high performance Clutch and throwout bearing. New ProForm HEI from Bjs offroad. New belts. New battery New plastic gas tank from BJs with sender. New fuel fill hoses. ALL new 2.5" 2 into 1 exhaust with cat and turbo muffler, exits out rear passenger under body behind tire. Rear d-44 pinion seal replaced. New U-joints in driveshaft. New rancho steering stabilizer. NEW BJs Aluminum radiator and electric fan set up. Comes with a bunch of extra parts and pieces - such as ORIGINAL working Ramsey 8000lb winch and winch mount. (needs cable and also need clutch release) and also dirty scuzzy Edelbrock Performer manifold. The Bad: - Door locks don't work. - Doors are a bit out of alignment and need to be shut hard at times. Tires have a lot of tread but are showing weathering. Still drive and hold air great but before a long trip should be replaced. Fine for local stuff. - Stock AC removed but included separately. No compressor. - Window tint is half removed in rear interior. It was bubbling. - Need a nice coolant overflow tank, current one is a bit mickey-moused. - No windshield washer tank. - Fuel gauge is not the right OHM for original sender so it doesn't function. - TITLE is a bit of a snafu, but all legal. This Chero was purchased as a lien sale from a mechanic, and all transfer has been done, it is in my name, I am the registered owner. However, I haven't smogged it yet. They won't give me the final pink slip until it's been smogged. Then in CA there will be back fees of a couple hundred most likely. I don't want to hassle it anymore... this is being sold with a Bill of Sale and all proper paperwork to finish the transfer. It is not registered for street use. - RUST: Not much really. A bit in the rear flares. A 6" spot on the lower right tailgate. A bunch of spots on the roof where the old roof rack attached. (rack wasn't there when I bought it) . Hardly any in the floorboards, (maybe small surface marks). Frame is totally solid, rockers, fenders, etc. Underside in great shape and mostly painted with gloss black. - Drag link needs adjusted to straighten steering wheel after replacing steering box. ------ All in all, this truck rolls down the road very nicely, drives straight. Stops well, brakes are great. Excellent off road. I haven't taken it far however, I would not say she's in daily driver status yet. Bugs will need to be worked out. The registration, gas prices and such have kept her parked here and just moved every week or so. It would be best to have her trailered or shipped. I live an hour out of Los Angeles or Bakersfield, in the mountains. On Nov-02-11 at 17:17:01 PDT, seller added the following information: Ran the jeep for a while today, everything working all-right. No lifter tapping or knocking, electric choke functioning properly. Should be good to go if cared for easy in the first few miles.
