This listing is for a 1987 Porsche 924S. As many of you probably know, the 924S was a special production car in 1987 and 1988 only, which featured the engine, transmission, suspension and brake equipment from the 944 in a 924 body. With its superior aerodynamics, the 924S was actually a faster car than the production 944. This 924S is in decent running and driving condition. It has a current PA state inspection, and is ready for the road. With NO RESERVE on this auction, this is the cheapest way to get a running, driving, and presentable Porsche that you can enjoy while you improve and care for it. It is, however, in need of TLC in several areas: It runs a little bit rough; it has some minor exterior blemishes (see photos); the sunroof seals shut, but does not move up and down; the rear defrost does not work. Maintenance This car has been maintained and cared for, having been with the same owner for the last 20 years. The clutch and timing belt have both been done within the last 30k miles. Unfortunately, I do not have and cannot obtain the paperwork to confirm this. Exterior/Interior The paint and interior on this car are both in decent condition. The black paint shines well for a 24 year old car, but is starting to fade a bit on the top surfaces. There are some minor blemishes around the car, including rock chips , small scratches and a couple of notable spots shown in the photos below on the exterior. The right rear quarter panel is the worst spot, there was a dent which was pounded back out, but no paint work was performed. The interior is in very nice shape. The only blemishes are a couple of very small cracks in the dash (not nearly as bad as most 924/944 cars) and a split in the seam of the driver’s seat. Options/Electronics Everything seems to be in working condition, including the CD stereo, power windows, heat and A/C. The only parts not functioning properly are the sunroof and the rear defrost. Overview This car is a great opportunity to get an enjoyable, useable and presentable Porsche at a very low price. This car does need some work, but it is ready to be enjoyed now; not after sitting in a garage for years while projects are being completed. I have only owned this car for a short period of time. I purchased it as it sits today, in the interest of having it as a project. Unfortunately, my list of projects is too long, and I would rather see someone else enjoy than have it sit on my backburner. Details The car has a clear PA title in my name, free of all liens, and ready to transfer to the new owner. A $250 Paypal deposit is due within 24 hours of sale. The balance of payment is due within 10 days of sale via certified check, wire transfer or cash in person. Pick-up or shipping of the vehicle is the full responsibility of the buyer, but I am happy to meet your shipper to load the vehicle at a mutually agreed upon time.
