She always wanted a classic bug and said she would learn how to drive a standard shift. Well, things have not worked out and she just gets to flustered in traffic with figuring out the clutch and gas. So I have decided to sell the car and get her something with a automatic.! details from previous owner: 1774cc engine dual webber carbs sony stereo system with hidden subwoofer/ amplifier and 6x9" in the rear deck (plenty of stereo for this car) reconditioned sunroof new white interior with tan carp new shifter linkage bushing What I have Done To the Car Since We Have Had It: NEW ELECTRONIC IGNITION PICK UP NEW BOSCH COIL NEW CB PERFORMANCE PUSH ROD TUBES (BLUE ANO SEE PIC.S) NEW SPARK PLUGS NEW SPARK PLUG WIRES ROTOR AN CAP WERE NEW FROM PREVIOUS OWNER NEW REAR TIRES NEW REAR BRAKE PADS NEW FUEL FILTER NEW OIL FILTER FRESH OILCHANGE FRESH TRANSAXLE FLUID CHANGE NEW REPRODUCTION TAIL LIGHTS NEW EXHAUST TIPS NEW SO-CAL ENGINE COVER STAND OFFS FOR BETTER AIR FLOW TO CARBS (CAB BE UNBOLTED SO COVER LAYS FLAT) NEW BATTERY SET VALVES @ .006 LASH SET TIMING @ 30 DEGREES TOTAL ADVANCE ADJUSTED CARBS AND CLEANED K&N AIR FILTERS I am sure i am forgetting something. I spent 2 weeks totally going through the car making sure it was reliable and safe for her to drive! This little bug will cruise @ 60 mph with easy I have ran 70 mph on the highway and it did have more to go, it runs very strong. The Clutch has to be newer as well because it is firm and engages well, no slipping what so ever. This Car starts/ Runs/ Stops Excellent. I drive it around to the hardeware store and to get beer! The roof rack is great for that What does not work on car: turn signals an high beam. Car has one patch in the pan under the battery see pic. The only rust spots are 2 ea. small areas in front of the lower doors. very small and not worth messing with. Over all the Paint is nice and shines well I am 40 years old and have been into cars all my life, no junk here just a good looking/ great running little car. I get more compliments in this car than in any of my other toys. At this point I have $9,200.00 in the car as it sits and obviously want to recover as much as I can.
