Vehicle Detail
This is ad for a 98 Mercedes Benz E320 which is located in Minot, North Dakota. Im selling it for my mother in law. The car has been checked out by Action Auto here in Minot as well by myself who regularly serviced it. I do mechanic work here in town and own MachineHead Repair & Salvage here in town. The story behind this car is that the battery was low and she went to swap it out, but she had the key in the ignition, apparently that is a no-no. She had origionally brought the car to Action Auto because they deal with pretty much all import vehicles in the surrounding area. There diagnostics concured with my own, in that apprarently from what ive researched, the ignition key carries a code which matches a code in the cars computer system, anyways during each startup the code changes but they remain in sync, upon pulling the battery the computer resets and now the key will not work. The only way to reset the system is to bring it to a Mercedes dealer. The closest to us was in Fargo, North Dakota, so she had a company attempt to load it onto a trailer and it had fell off and caused the damage to the passenger fender and a couple dings above the rear passenger quarter panel. She had gotten approximatly a $4000.00 insurance claim off of it and her insurance company aprasised the vehicle at $7800.00. She decided to just cut her losses and get a new vehicle. It is very inconvieniant to maintain a benz in our location with the closest dealership being approximatly 5.5 hours away. Due to the key not being able to work, the steering column is locked. I figure the easiest way to transport the vehicle is with a car dolly. If the cars front end is put on dolly and the shift linkage is disconnected under the vehicle to put it in neutral it should transfer no problem. I had serviced the vehicle regularly with it only needing oil changes, plugs, filters, etc. The cars drivetrain/engine is solid and runs great. This could be a great car, or investment car, for someone who has access to a benz dealer, or a heck of a parts car for someone. Buyer is responsible for transfer. I need to get rid of the vehicle before winter, the windows were rolled down when the battery was pulled and due to the key not programed with the car, they will not roll up. We put plastic over them and tarped the car until the vehicle is sold. If you have any questions or requests about the vehicle you can message me on ebay, or call or text me at 701-340-0488. Thanks for viewing. -Randy ** I do not know the exact mileage but im going to list anyways, and update later. Contact me if your interested and if the mileage hasnt been changed from 100,000.
