1999 Ford SVT Contour, #552 of 2760. 29,142 original miles. Tropic-green clearcoat-metallic exterior with medium-prairie-tan leather interior. I think this is the best year and color combination SVT Contour and I actually own two of these cars, identical from the factory in every way. I've kept this car as completely stock as possible (my other car is modified…. significantly). This car needs nothing, everything works, the engine/drivetrain is powerful and smooth, and the car is a great fun to drive. This car has not been in any accidents of any sort and the wheels have never scraped a curb. All of the pictures were taken today (the day I placed this ad). Yesterday I had it VA safety inspected (failed for dry-rot cracks in tire tread), replaced all the tires, and had it safety inspected again (passed). Thus, it has current VA safety sticker through Oct 2012, and the tires are one day old with less than 10 miles wear on them. There’s some mild collector interest in SVT Contours and I have the original window sticker and SVT certificate of authenticity (see pictures). History: In 2006 I bought this car from the original owner with 20,127 miles. The car had been parked in his garage unused for many years. I replaced: tires, battery, brake pads and rotors (front and rear), front lower control arms (dry rotted bushings), tie rod ends, sway bar end links, and frame bushings. All the sway bar frame bushings are polyurethane. I used custom spherical-rod-end rear sway bar end links instead of stock end links, due to known issues with stock parts wearing out rapidly. I replaced all the fluids and, did a thorough cleaning…. and decided the car was way too nice to drive every day (Immaculate suspension, brakes, and drivetrain). I had a lot of pictures of this car circulating on “CEG” and other Ford SVT car forums back then. Eventually I changed my mind about driving it, and in April 2008 I made it my daily driver for the summer. I put a little over 8,000 miles on it that year and in Dec 2008 gave it a thorough cleaning and put it back in storage and have not driven it since. During 2008 it was nearly always parked outside and I drove it in all weather, rain or shine (never in snow). As a result the car is NOT in show-room perfect condition. · There is a small door ding in the rear passenger door. · The front bumper cover has scrapes on the bottom from a parking curb.· The paint has numerous imperfections ranging from small chips, scratches, and pits to leaf impressions on the roof. · The driver seat cushion has minor wear on the bolsters.· There is a small chip in the windshield (noticeable if pointed out, but not a safety issue)· The new “DORAL” tires seem to flex more than the absolutely new looking KDW’s I had to so unhappily replace yesterday – but this will probably fade as the tread wears down some. Despite mild weathering, the car is in fantastic shape for over 12 years old - this ad has 24 detailed pictures taken today to support that (you have to click the expand button to see them). At 29,142 miles it's certainly one of the lowest mile examples left. This car has been lightly used and never abused and I’ve priced it to be a good bargain. I really don’t need to be educated about “Kelly Blue Book” values and such. SVT Contours in this condition rarely come up for sale. If you’re looking for an inexpensive, sporty used car, and absolutely do not want to buy someone else’s problems or amateur modifications….this may be the right car.$300 PAYPAL transfer to close auction.
