1958 Chevrolet Bel Air 2 Door Hard Top Sport Coupe VIN: F58A149236 Miles: 51,740 283-V8 engine with 4 barrel carburetor and automatic transmission. Have almost $8000.00 worth of receipts for bodywork, mechanical service and parts. Receipts document installation of; new front and back floor pans, trunk pan, quarter panel patch panels and other miscellaneous bodywork. Replacement of the entire brake system, including master cylinder & brake lines. New starter, new main bearings & rear main seal, Transmission swap to TH350 with rebuild and balancing of driveshaft. The original cast iron powerglide transmission was not able to be repaired and was discarded. Complete tune up including carburetor rebuild, replacement of plugs, wires, points, condenser, cap, filters, and battery plus a set of new tires. The driver side exhaust manifold has a small crack, probably done when the engine was pulled to replace the bearings? Mechanic's note from service record dated 12/2004 states "...replace engine mainbearings, straighten bottom of oil pan, was pushed up. ....oil pump pick up was shoved against bottom of pan caused bearings to be starved of oil. ...please note crankshaft is worn, scored". A thousand dollars and a week later the car was driven home in good running condition. The driver side window has a fine hairline crack that doesn't show up in photo. The seat covers and door panels look to have been redone sometime ago and are poor condition. Metal seat frames, springs and foam padding appear to be in good condition. The headliner remains intact, see photos. This is a good solid project car with lots of extra parts as shown below. Please email me with any questions.
