Vehicle Detail
Up for sale here is a 1966 Mustang A-Code GT 4sp car. Long story behind this car. I bought it from the original owners daughter after the original owner passed. I intended on restoring it but im moving and can only take so much stuff with me so i have to sell it. Heres some of the details i got from the family when i begged them to sell it to me : The car was bought new in california and owned by her up until she passed a few years ago. She drove it on the weekends after she retired and moved to NC and that was it. The odometer shows around 5,000 miles, this is the actual mileage, it has not been rolled over or replaced. In the late 70s she had a stroke and could no longer drive. It was driven only on weekends for its entire life on the road, the last inspection being in 76. The car sat in her barn for 35 years before i bought it. I witnessed the car sitting ever since first grade when my bus passed her house, it never moved. At some point in time it was sanded down and primered/painted halfway. Over the years while it sat various parts have been taken from it by family members and others, and it is basically a rolling chassis project at this point needing a few bolt on parts and a drivetrain. It is missing parts. All of these parts can be bought NOS or reproduced or even used very easily. Original parts that i know are missing would be Engine/trans - Gas tank/cap - Radio - Front/rear bumpers. Everything else is there and alot of the parts are inside the trunk. It has rust in the floors. It will likely need a floor pan replacement. Also has about a 1" by 5" line of rust under the right rear fender. The body is remarkably straight and solid, every mustang collector that has looked at the car has talked about how straight and solid the body is. It does have surface rust, but its not terribly pitted or anything and wouldnt be seen with a good coat of primer. It is a 66 A-Code Mustang GT Coupe built and bought in California by the original owner i bought it from. It originally had a 289/4sp in the floor. Has standard interior, most of which the fabric will need to be replaced from deteriorating over the years. To a true Mustang collector, this is up in value next to the mighty K-Code GT. Not your average inline 6 3 speed auto car. With some work itd be worth a pretty penny, but i just dont have time anymore. I hope to be able to sell it to someone who will treat it right and bring it back to what it should be, and what it deserves. The vin is listed in the details, here is the warranty number. 65A F 22 17F 71 1 6 Any questions feel free to email or call me personally at 252-886-2248. The car is located in nashville, NC 27856. Id be happy to do local pickup or help with a shipping company to get the car to you, or however you may need to get it. On Oct-23-11 at 16:41:59 PDT, seller added the following information: A few people have asked about the title, it is still in the original owners name i have never transferred it into mine. A duplicate will need to be filed for, but i will be providing a bill of sale with itOn Oct-26-11 at 07:46:40 PDT, seller added the following information: Alot of people have also been asking if the car has front disc brakes, yes it does. Another thing a mustang guy told me was it was very rare to not have the shock towers drilled or modified to get to the grease fittings on the shocks, i assume thats because it wasnt on the road very long. Just to clarify on some of the trim, ALL of the front end trim is in the car. Headlight mouldings, grill moulding, windshield trim, etc. Everything is there except the bumper. The chrome bumper however is in the trunk. On Oct-26-11 at 22:23:40 PDT, seller added the following information: Factory switch hole and plug in the harness for the fog lights. You can see the unique 2 female/1 male plug in this pic, along with the factory hole in the dash. The nut was removed and the switch pushed through for some reason. Factory 13/16 swaybar (reads .887 on digital micrometer) Factory dual exhaust brackets/hangers
