- 3 DAY AUCTION AT NO RESERVE - This is an True 1969 VW Westfalia CamperMobile. It was found sitting in the 2nd owner's garage in Downy, California. The 2nd owner purchased it in the mid 70's & had it painted period correct for the time. He gave it over to son son to use thru high school & drove it around not much the next decade or so. Recently, I drove by & seen the garage door open just as the photo above shows. The owner had no plans on ever selling it but slowly it came across his mind, he was never going to get around to restoring it. It was a factory Red Westfalia, only being repainted once. All original floor pans & body panels. Very clean thru out the undercarriage. Around the front windshield is clean as well as the rest of the windows. All original on the inside. The original wood floor remains under the carpet. All the camper equipment is still in place. The only modification I seen that was done to the inside was a cassete player was added to the dash (done by the son). The original jack was under the passenger chair. The engine was never replaced by the 2nd owner, so I'm assuming it's the original one. The engine & transmission do run/shift. Does brake & drive but the engine has a knock in it. Engine need to be rebuilt but does move for now. Overall, this would make a great restoration project for someone.
