Vehicle Detail

“Wouldn’t You Really Rather Have a Buick?” This original and un-restored 1966 Buick Wildcat Custom, 4-door hardtop in metallic silver with factory black vinyl top, offers a 401 cubic inch V-8 engine that boasts 325 horsepower, 445 lb./foot torque, a 4bbl carburetor, and a single exhaust system. This model is one of two examples that are presently registered with the Buick Club of America. Total production for this model #46639 numbered 13,060. Packed with muscle, the Wildcat 4-door hardtop was viewed to be the young executive’s family sport’s car, and they were well used. For this reason, very few examples exist today. 1966 was the last year that Buick built its Wildcat series on the Electra 225 126 inch wheelbase with a length of 220 inches. The weight of the Wildcat 4-door hardtop is 4200 pounds. Well maintained mechanically for utmost performance and showing 89,000+ miles, this Wildcat Custom features and includes these special options: Buick Finned Aluminum Brake Drums, AM/FM Stereo Radio, Rear Window Defroster, Five Spoke Sport Wheels, Factory Vinyl Roof, Factory A/C, PS, PB, & Power Windows. This car has never been in an accident. The body is straight and rust-free. The paint on the hood and trunk lid shows wear from the sun after having been recently driven north from Florida and enduring severely high temperatures and intense sunshine. I’ve learned that silver is not a good color for reflecting sunlight. There are signs that rust is forming under the vinyl roof in a few areas. The interior is original and clean. Only the vinyl seat in the driver’s position has some splits. Smoking has never been allowed to take place in this vehicle. I am the third owner of this vehicle, and it has been in my possession for the last fifteen years. At the time I purchased this automobile, it had 69,197 miles on the odometer. The original owner, the second owner, and I have been fastidious about keeping this automobile in excellent running order. Although this car has not been garaged for the past three years, it has never been driven through ice, snow, or on salted streets. The only two options/items that do not work on this vehicle are the electric clock and the stereo radio. All other electrical equipment functions well. I have noticed a slight vibration that might be emanating from the right rear wheel. I’ve had the area in question inspected; however, the solution is inconclusive. The thought is that the vibration may be from a wheel bearing that is starting to wear. Accompanying and complimenting this rare automobile is a reproduction 1930’s Mullins Trailer that matches the automobile both in color and with a vinyl clam top. For further information regarding the Mullins Trailer visit: www.superiorglassworks.com This trailer is also appointed with two five spoke sport Wildcat wheels, enhancing visual continuity. This car has full documentation from the time of its production inception to today: factory work-order, window sticker, sales receipt, and all maintenance receipts. Also to accompany the sale of this automobile would be, what I believe to be, full and complete examples of all 1966 Buick literature that was offered for salesmen’s purposes, buyer’s catalogues, and service manuals. I have thoroughly enjoyed owning and driving this automobile for the past fifteen years. I learned to drive on a 1961 Buick LeSabre and continued my early driving experience on a 1967 Buick Electra 225. This 1966 Buick Wildcat allowed me the opportunity to reacquaint myself with that same driving feel and thrill that I experienced when I was a new driver. But it is now time for me to pass this joy and excitement on to another. I know that this 1966 Buick Wildcat Custom 4-door HT will also thrill and satisfy its next owner. On Oct-20-11 at 14:40:59 PDT, seller added the following information: At the time of purchase, I noticed that there were signs of "bubbling" under the vinyl top, and I was told that it was of little or no significance. There is "bubbling" on both sides near the rear window at the "C" pillar and also under the vinyl between the stainless steel window framing and body edging. I have discovered after a rain that water gets into the trunk. For additonal reference, please review my listing to find and view a photograph of the trunk area.
